Your explanation of supporting attacks is still wrong. Forget about "stepping up" it is confusing. Models in the fighting rank that are killed cannot attack back. If all models in the fighting rank are killed, casualties are taken from the supporting rank, and those models cannot attack back. Any remaining attacks can be made. Models are removed from the back for convenience. This is IDENTICAL to how it worked in 6th edition. The key thing is that models that are killed cannot attack back, remaining models that were eligible attack at the beginning of the combat can attack back.
For what I understood, you should simply make the calculation: attacks = number of available attacks at the start of every combat - number of dead models (given that they're slain at higher initiative). Is it right? Because how they're interpreting the step up rule, basically killing a model removes two attacks from the defending unit, which seems a bit unfair.
I feel like that should be changed to a maximum of 1 hit per model available to be hit. A single character should take at most 1 hit and allowed an initiative save of sorts before the hit
I wouldn't take them on the plane with you, Steve. Unless it's your own carry-on baggage, you know they're going to throw with it. They're really rough with the suitcases. I don't think it's worth the risk for one event. I really hope you won't regret it.
Love watching you play Luka, but I which you had spent some more thought into this dwarf-list: Aside from the WM's and Slayer-character, it lacks *any* sort of punch: Warriors and Longbeards with shields won't cut it, once Steve hit your line this game was over because you where never gonna win combat, just hold at best. Where are the Hammerers, Ironbreakers with Forgefire and the killy Dwarf King? :/
I think generally one runesmith with a few dispell runes will be enough. if youre fighting against very magic heavy maybe lead the army with a Runelord + anvil. Dwarves can go minimal on magical defence and still come out allright imo
@@gilanthegrey I think if it's for anti-magic, the 3 runesmiths and change you could get instead of the anvil of doom might be the better pick. You could embed them into units to boost their MR.
I'm wondering if the 4th edition Throne of Power would fit on a 50x50. Four bearers instead of three but three seems like it would look weird holding any shape of shield.
I only miss the Legendary Lords and Heroes from WAP, as the unique factions such as the Cult of Ulric and the Amazons. Also TOW lacks the most awesome units from each faction such as the Thunderbarge and the Dread Saurian. TOW is neat, but WAP got my heart real good.
I hate how the giant falling isn't in a random direction. Why would a dead character choose how it falls? Should be the scatter dice like in 6th edition. Makes it more interesting when you can damage the enemy or fall into your own troops randomly
Just to check, when you guys are measuring to move or march, you both do the wheeling and moves and then take the measure away and push an extra little bit more. To me that looks like a really bad form/habit as it makes it look like you are either guessing the last couple of inches after measuring everything properly OR are getting a little bit more than you should. I'm not suggesting anyone is cheating. Just it sticks out to me, so I wanted to ask about it.
One player should go all Herohammer and see what happens. You guys buy units as if it was 8th, so your being kind. Get cavs with heros and champions in the front, preferable Chaos knight and see if anything can hurt them. I only have bad memories of herohammer😮💨
@@robnoel9306 sorry, it was just a hyperbolic joke to match the 2000 points commment. Unless it's an absolutely massive army then it's unlikely to cost £2000. Depending where you buy from I think anywhere from £400 - £800 is probably more accurate. Secondhand can also be a lot cheaper
Is warhammer armies project dead now that old world warhammer is out..? So far I like what I see from old world warhammer. Though I am not a fan of not being able to shoot in two ranks. And I am not a fan of the step up rule. The game (in my option) is more balanced and much more quick and simple if you remove close combat casualties from the back.
Still loving your games but if your going to regularly have a 3rd person in the room can you get them a mic? Not enjoying only hearing one side of a conversation.
the characters and big models in this game are so underwhelming. I was hoping for innovative changes to the game, it wasn't altered much from previous revisions Edit: Going to pedal back on this after watching more battel reports. I think I might actually be enthused a bit by the apparent lack of impact characters and big charges are showing. It seems infantry is finally having its day and not breaking apart like a wet paper bag to every alpha strike. You can actually form a battel line and have a proper row. It seems there are some nuanced innovations here and I'm coming around to it.
Interesting opinion. Iv played dozens of games of each edition from 5th to 8th over the last year. With all of my experiences i have formed the exact opposite opinion. Could you elaborate?
@@MountainMiniatures Yeah for example, dwarf slayer gets like one round of combat, and is crushed. I watched another bat rep where the Bretonian duke charged in with a unit of knights into skeletons and the combat drug out for several turns with a real lackluster showing of the knights charge. Stuff like that. Its reminiscent of my past experience. I dunno, I used to pay dwarfs though, so I'd bring some characters but they'd just get avoided like they pointed out in the video. M3 sucks in a game about positioning. There's a few positives but all in all It's not entirely selling me. I'd like to see some real scaled up battles though.
