Hey guys! Back for another video on the #Beatbuddy by singular sound. In this one I thought I'd give you a tour on the bead buddy's free library and part of the Premium library. This is the first part, hence there will be more videos on this particular topic and showing you guys more of the sounds that the premium library includes.
The beat buddy is one of the best sounding drum machines out in the market and can do nearly everything you'd need a drum machine to do in a loop station, it's completely amazing how good it works. Hope you guys enjoy! If you do, make sure to subscribe and hit the like button.

I think the drunk option setting (on light intensity) is an ingenuous option to use when the human drummer element is called for. Just a great way to remove and soften that robotic and mechanical drummer factor out of the equation. Genius.

The coolest part about the Beatbuddy is that if you hear something you 'don't' like....you can actually fire the drummer and hire a new one in 10 seconds....without the argument and ducking the flying beer cans!!

Dear Franko, Please,please,please, let me get what i want the original Extended BeatBuddy "Premium library" just got the "Groove Monkee" so called "Premium library" and it doesn't have all the artists you demo ! How do i get it ??? It isn't available anywhere !

When i got it, I was sponsored by singular sound and got it preloaded like that. I believe you can get them from their store! At least that used to be the case

@@FrankoTorresMusic Hi Franko, thank you for your response. I've searched everywhere and can't find "Extended Premium library". The only library available on singular sound is the Groove Monkee and that does not have the artists you demo'd. I've emailed singular sound on more that one occasion and they won't answer my questions regarding the Extended Premium library. They keep referring me to the Groove Monkee list. Is there any way to get a copy of yours ?

"I've never been to a rave... but I suppose that's how it feels..." *tear in eye* nah, me neither. hahah Would you say you can find some interesting sounds in there, not necessarily ones that sound "real" but ones that just sound powerful and good.

I have the extended catalog that you can get on their website or forums! No, the midi controller isn’t necessary at all :)

Hey Ken! There’s a few grooves that work for jazz fusion, the jazzy one’s are probably game too if you put a modern drumset in them. I also highly recommend working on the editor to be able to get the best out of it, basically you can make your own beats as you go on writing your music or even edit some you like to suit the song better. Awesome video. thank you. rewally well set out and easy to watch. :) I'm wanting world beats - tabla, dumbeck, djembe. NOT fusion beats that also drum kits mixed in. Just jeats that literally ethnic world instruments only. i.e just a tabla. I know there are premium libraries with these. But are any instruments/beats like these in the stock library?

I believe so! It does something similar. However the quality of drum sounds on the beatbuddy are unreal! I like how good and realistic it sounds I’ll be posting more videos on it

I bought one recently, I should have looked into it more than I did so my bad, but for those looking to get one of these be aware you can’t just play a drum beat all the way through. I bought some premium songs and you have to manually transition from one beat to another, some of the premium songs have a lot of parts to them. I’m not a drummer so I’d have to spend quite a while working out when to transition from part to the next, not to mention a ton of fills. I’m lead vocal and rhythm guitar with a voice live 3 and a helix at my feet, I just don’t want to be tap dancing on the beatbuddy too. For those who want the flexibility I’m sure it’s great, but if your looking to use it as a drummer for cover songs it’s not going to do that out of the box. I’ve read that there are some OP ( one press ) songs but I didn’t see any in the premium library. I bought it because it’s a great sounding drum machine with consistent results, I believe sometime in the future there will be the ability to play whole tracks I think it will be called auto pilot ? But for the time being you will either have to learn how to create your own or treat it like an instrument and learn all the drum changes and the timing for every song in your set etc.

It is what it is! You can achieve all of that that you’re mentioning but you need a midi controller to be able to, once you fo have it rigged out it’s completely controllable, just like anything else midi controlled would be. Haven’t read about that auto pilot thing!

@@FrankoTorresMusic Yeah I'm sure your correct, I'm just not willing to spend the time on the midi. The Auto Pilot is described on the site and they say will be available late 2021, supposedly all the premium songs will have this option to play from start to finish. If that happens then I'll be a happy bunny ;)

Lee Perry - Have you determined a solution to your goal? This is a basic video, but is this video below related to your needs? I'm just trying to pull the drumbeat from a midi version of a rock song...to run through the BeatBuddy as a backing track. Nope! It’s only for beats and drum patterns.

Do you have the complete library. Its 200 bucks... I was wondering if it has a TON on it. The bank that comes with the beat buddy has alot of useless beats and categories

you honestly don't need to spend another 200 more because so much is repeated with too finer adjustment . For example you want a straight 8 beat . Usually the first one in the catalogue is fine . you want 6/8 again the first one is fine once youve adjusted bpm. For most of the content on the default BB sd card ,i only ever use Blues 1 & 2 and a little down World > Polka after that maybe some changes to brushes in the drumset folder. For me there's too much the same. I recently paid for the mellow beats for songwriters pack but again theirs too many of the same sound ... anyway, its still a great tool

If you have the time, I’d say make your own beats and maybe just buy the different drum kits, that way you do get different sounds and the rhythms in your mind.

You can opt out of intro in the settings on the unit without using computer

@@ricoerda5344 its in the settings, press the Drumset and tempo buttons at the same time, then use the arrow buttons to find it. You can make it do a click count in or get rid of it, you can always bring it back if you want, you can also get rid of the outro. I don’t use the intro either. Hope this helps
