My dad loves fishing and I go with him occasionally. Even as someone who was raised on videogames and gets bored easily, I think fishing can be quite fun, especially bass fishing in a well-populated body of water. Even a novice can get several hits and a few catches if you have someone more knowledgeable with you to give advice and tell you which lures should be used. And bass are renowned for how furiously they fight against being reeled in, which makes them a lot more fun to catch than some other fish. They also vary in size a lot, from somewhat small to absolutely enormous. The excitement of the catches, assuming you are catching something, makes up for the stretches of nothing happening, in my opinion.

I think when the fish jump, you just want to let them go and don't put any tension on the line at all. You let them do their thing and only reel in when you can.

1:45 - it’s a “trolling motor” - this allows fishermen to use a small motor on the front of the boat to slowly move in direction of where fish may be when in close range without needing to start up the main motor and scare the fish away.

In-Fisherman was my favorite magazine subscription growing up. I’ll always remember their fishing tutorials and credit them with my knowledge and mastery of the skill. 8:00 that’s actually the slot where you can mount a chair on the deck of the boat. Fishing is kinda like bowling, or maybe playing cards. Most people that casually do it, do it mostly for the company/drinking/etc lol

Jitterbugs are my favorite fishing lure. It's a floating lure that has a big lip on the front that is oriented perpendicularly to the lure. That lip creates an erratic movement and bubbles when it's reeled in. Super fun to fish with-- especially in low light conditions.

I absolutely love fishing. I go whenever I get a chance. It's so nice to get out and be alone and catch fish. You'd be hooked if you went enough to catch a good bass. You might even make a fishing channel. Thabfishing

I love fishing. So many different lures, trailers, scents, types, etc. goes into bass fishing. I have spent $1,000's on fishing. I can't get enough of it.

Few series earn an automatic like from me. This is one of them.

Back in the day this game drew a lot of acclaim for it's depth and innovation in the fishing sim genre. I don't know if I would give it a 0/10 for enjoyment, I certainly enjoyed it a lot back then.

As a gamer who actually fishes, I'm pretty impressed by the accuracy of this title. I'd still just prefer to go outdoors for the real deal though.

I remember getting this game as a gift and being really disappointed, but I ended up really liking it, FYI the way the boat moves without you moving is called a trolling motor, its a small motor up at the front of the boat, usually you would have to sit to operate it, but I think we can forgive an N64 game for not animating that

i remember playing this as a kid...when the fish jumps you're supposed to stop reeling. thats how it works in real life, and i think you dont lose the fish if you stop reeling while they're jumping

8:25 I think that's a hole to put (or not put) a seat. The seat is attached to a metal pole, so you just stick that bad boy into the hole, and boom, instant seat. Then when you don't want it anymore you just lift the pole out of the hole to remove it.
