Sorry for the hiatus since the last videos! I've been super busy with all the new game releases this month, but should have a few more videos coming up soon. Thanks for watching guys
i really like your vids and have most of the tactiks for darksouls and stuff from you dist. kinda emberressing to see you play ds with a bow like some random nooby... impressiv effort but hm i hate the weapon, why no one punsh guy vid instead :P?
I did bow only in DS3, and it was actually pretty fun to my surprise. Though this was before the DLC came out so that might've changed how fun it would have been
@@TimothyGod I don't base this off of anything concrete, but I'm pretty sure Phalanx has a timer where it heals to full health if not enough minions were killed, which is why a lot of people may see Phalanx only heal "a bit".
DLC enemies actually have somewhat normal resistances. Instead the devs decided for whatever reason that all ranged damage including bows will do ~half damage across the board to DLC enemies. So for example a lightning spear will do half damage, but a lightning infused melee weapon will do normal damage.
I love DS2 man... It had a LOT of issues, but it really tried to do a lot of really interesting and creative things, especially with the environmental interaction with bosses. It's a shame it's so brutal for all the wrong reasons (namely tedium), but I still think it's criminally underrated and misunderstood. Putting a "2" next to its namesake did it more harm than good. They should have called it "Dragon's/Giant's Souls" or something different.
Yeah if they remade it like demon souls ps5 level and gave it better ai and more boss moves more people would see it’s one of the best. It feels like such an adventure
@@bimmer8602 Some stats if you're interested. TL;DR The best infusion is probably one of the elemental ones. Mundane avelyn out-damages raw avelyn once you have 19 in each stat (total lvl 118). Raw avelyn+10 has an AR of 187. Mundane +10 with 19 in each has 189 AR. Alternatively, all the elemental infusions are great since you'll get C scaling in your chosen stat. Magic Avelyn+10 with 40 INT has an AR of 198 (85phy/113mag). That damage gets even better when using magic bolts.
My friend and I did a challenge run earlier this year, one weapon type through Ds1-3. I ended up choosing bow for all 3 and it was super fun. Loved that the black bow and Dragonrider bow are basically available in all 3.
If there’s one thing you’ll notice real quick when using mainlining bows it’s hit boxes both on the enemies and the level geometry. The sloppiest you’ll find is in Elden Ring. The bows mechanics all change slightly over the course of the games with DS3 probably being the best.
I remember vanilla Demon's Souls being kinda a joke with the bow for most enemies excluding Phalanx, Flamelurker, Old Monk, and False King (Old King Allant's human fight). With the Thief's Ring, some bosses couldn't even find you for most of the fight if you stayed back and manual aimed, especially the Spider (which dropped the slab you need to max out your bow, funny enough). It's impressive to you see you get through these games with just bows, because as much as I love them for the memories I have of them carrying me through the first game, they really just became a situational tool in the rest the soulsbourne games for me since. Good video, great job.
Now _THIS_ is a challenge I like to see. Are we going to see a 'Dark Souls - One Spell per Boss' Challenge at some point? I know Dark Souls 2 is doable, I'm testing it right now, and I know there's enough spells in Dark Souls 1 (think you have to start as Pyromancer, though...?), but I'm curious whether or not 3 is doable, and I'm almost certain Demon's Souls *isn't* due to a lack of damaging spells (only 11, even if OG Boss Soul Duping is used).
"MaGiC iN eLdEn RiNg Is OnLy GoOd BeCaUsE tHeY bUfFeD iT lIkE a ThOuSaNd TiMeS!" No, magic has been good in elden ring since launch, it is greatly improved over the other soulsbourne games and was extremely fun using it first playthrough of elden ring on launch day.
Up next: SL1, no damage, 100% equip load, fists only, constant poison, only hold RT/R2, no skips, all enemies, EldenSoulsBorne, under 12 hours, while eating super spicy ramen, feet only while hands are rubbing stomach and patting head. And you can only use English nouns and Japanese verbs/adverbs with the grammatical structure of French for commentary. Goodamn, you make these games look easy. Amazing work my dude.
Awesome format, these always wan't me to go back and play the games again ! One note though, I know it would make the videos longer but I'd love to have a few more cuts of your build, or the equipment you get (rings/talismans etc) Thanks !!
I remember doing a Bow-only DkS2 run back in the day; was surprisingly effective, and I honestly still hold some of the bows and crossbows as the best in Fromsoft's soulslikes.
ds1 composite bow slaps so hard lol, that was one of my favorite runs that i ever did. actually killed kalameet without talking to gough too, that was really fun. also really hilarious to me that when you shoot priscilla, the arrows stick in her and floats around with her so you can see exactly where she is.
The headshot spamming of the last priest guy in the Congregation really reminded me of some of those obscure and janky PS1 action shooter games I used to have, lol!
I love the Okd king Allant buggy AI that he charges at you and instead of finishing his attack no no he brainfarts turns to you and insta kills you. Game design
In DS3 'dark arrows' have a homing effect, and pharis triple shot will converge, so you don't have to be close to hit all 3 arrows. Who knows when you'll want to try bow only in DS3, right?
Idk bro I've watched you for so many fucking years and I can't help but be amazed. Like you genuinely give me hope for myself because if someone can perfect multiple different games. From multiple different genres. And never once get your name ruined by cheating. And have that great of an impact than I know I'll be able to do something I put my mind too. Keep doing crazy shit dist. Thank you.
People have no idea how insane hard this really is please go and try this on elden ring its mega hard I would bet less that 1% finish that attempt this challenge.
Man I wish I would’ve known that Godrick’s dragon arm had no collision when I fought him the first time. ER was my first ever souls like game and didn’t know it had no collision mechanics on things that should clearly have collision like a fuckin’ dragon head arm.
Can you do a mod of starting some soulsborn game at max stats with a fully upgraded weapon mod, but also a challenge where you cannot heal except with bonfires
Seeng the kind of damage he's taking makes me wonder, did the heavy armor I wore actually do anything. He doesn't seem to be taking agreigus amounts of damage for not wearing anything? Awesome runs BTW! Those Bloodborne bosses got rekt!

If it wouldn't have added another 15 minutes to get it, the Bow of Want is really good in DS2. Except that you would have only really had it for the DLC where enemies take about half damage from ranged elemental attacks on top of normal resistance. Hence why the damage from an infused bow was so bad.
