11:21 kAN "I'm thinking it's faster ... you take that first swoop ... then just hit the tops all the way to the finish" Except the winning time was 2 swoops.
Hitting the down ramp of the swoops carries your momentum. Bouncing off the top cancels some component of your velocity and the booster has to get you back up to speed. 4:44 proves this: Using the swoops keeps your speed at 176 apex speed (from 180 apex speed). I don't think you can be anywhere close to loosing only 4km/h with the flat bounces. In fact, most flat bounces drop your speed to 150-ish.
@@Pystro however in terms of reaching the finish, 176 speed at 20 degrees incline is the same as about 165 speed going direct. So you can afford to lose more speed when taking a flatter approach. Especially combined with the fact that there are boosters you _might_ be able to inch out a better time bouncing on top, but it’s going to be way harder and more luck dependent
@@Pystro The goal is to hit the first swoop, but then go off of the side of the swoop when it goes upwards. That way you'll leave the swoop at a more horizontal angle, while maintaining your velocity. From that point on you could hit the tops of the bumps, since your approach angle is much lower, so you lose far less speed on each impact. Of course that's all in theory. I've not tried playing this map yet.
@@TijmenZwaan Aah, I didn't think of that. Yes, that should work for SOME time, but the flat bounces will gradually eat away more speed than landing matched to a downwards ramp slope. So it becomes a question of where that break-even point is, which I could only guess.
Congratulations on the win kAN! Well deserved finally! Here's a theme suggestion list: Moonbo Deception Gymkhana/Motorkhana/Autotesting Swooping Bobsled Unconventional Railroads
Theme idea: EVENTS FROM OUR HISTORY. You could make the moon landing, the civil rights movement, the invention of sliced bread, the titanic, the American revolutionary war, the war of 1812 and so much more!
You should try a completely vertical track falling down with a weak fan pushing you against the wall to give just enough traction to follow the path :)
I think I have an idea what a theme could be for you guys. First you all gotta determine a turn order of who will be first to who will be last. Be it a wheel/draw straws/rockpaperscisors/etc. then after that has been decided the first person will make a track but only lets say a segment of it or so. Then send it to the next person from the decided order and they will add a section to it. so on and such until the last person. The theme I have in mind is kinda like a "Pass it along " or like those improv writing exercises where a group adds one word to a sentence of whatever story it becomes. I think it would be an interesting track seeing you guys collab a build and trying to make creative ways to steal first all while trying to thwarting the others.
and the one thing I will have to say as a rule for it is you cannot alter or delete parts of the track that is not your own. the point is to build off of each other. Mistakes and hiccups in all. I say Bring forth this Frankenstein of a track haha
Apple pie is only good with a slice of cheese on top, fresh out of the oven. Where is the cheese KAN? Thanks for the shows, and the time to make them for everyone to enjoy.
If u need a theme I've been waiting a long time to see someone else's take on statues in zeepkist, if u want to see what I mean owlplague has made a few videos on my tracks
