It's pretty clear to me that The General really does enjoy these invigorating chats with you Jason. General Hodges has been crystal clear from the start. His logic and reasoning are SOUND. I wish more people (including the US Administration) would LISTEN to him. Great work Jason! Thank you for your efforts and solid journalism!! Slava Ukraini.
yes! and btw, part of the loss of faith that us american liberals have in Biden is related to ukr policy and israeli policy to a lesser extent. But it's real.
@@11235but If "he" is referring to Ben Hodges then: No, to the best of my knowledge & listening to several hours now of his conversations. Which of his predictions are you referring to?
Us and here in Eu people are listening and we said we don't want anymore to spend money in this proxy war. Wind it's chainging, we voted in EU and we whant to stop everithing, zelensky it's a dictator that also ukrainians whant to send to trial with all his government
World citizens need to think for themselves and use all resources at their disposal. Each side has propaganda. It's up to the individual to take the time to swim through all the BS before giving an opinion based on bias. ALSO, the eu and usa have their own internal issues to deal with. Ukraine isn't their top priority right now. When Trump gets into office again my hope is that he audits all money that has gone to Ukraine and go from there. usa/nato/Zelensky has failed Ukraine and citizens!!!!!
@@christineladanchuk2626 Propaganda is a Russian invention, designed to destabilize the democcratic world for its own benefit. Only Orc Trolls can be affected by my initial comment, and reply to it as you do.
@@barriewilliams4526 Whatever helps you sleep at night. But facts remain facts. Part of what he's saying is realistic and part is pure fantasy. Take his statements regarding Black Sea trade, for example. In order for Russia to be incapable of threatening Ukraine's trade, Russia would have to lose It's entire Black Sea coast, not just the parts they took from Ukraine, as Hodges suggests. While Sevastopol has a very nice harbour, it's not the only one, And as the last couple of years have demonstrated, you don't need an actual navy to threaten shipping. But, hey, instead of actually using your brain at least a little, it's far easier to simply write "Bot!". Ain't that right, precious?
@@orcho141 I know, right? A naughty lil goblin daring to use common sense and question some of the silly narratives being peddled in this war. I just wish you and the pro-Russian crowd would get together and decide which of you lot I'm allegedly shilling for.
Bit late to that. Isn't it? Sad to see how USA turns into Hitler's Germany/ - Hitler to be Trump - Goebbels - JD Vance or maybe *ucker "Fartson"? If we search deeper, who knows - Göring to be Musk???
It's unbelievable to outsiders such as myself that there are men like Ben Hodges in the USA and two bozos like Trump and Biden or more likely the thickoe Harris are the choices on offer for President.
A nation recently considered a world superpower has lost half a million soldiers, which it can ill afford due to precipitously declining birthrates, and well over half of it's not-so-illustrious arsenal; it's navy and air force have been almost fully neutralized, and it's army is virtually powerless to advance. All this while facing a much smaller military, with no navy and very little air force. And yet there are still those who believe Russia is winning.
No, it's the Russian troll farms. Tens of thousands of people in Russia probably a lot more, because Putin admitted he spent 1 billion rubles just in 2022 on one specific troll farm, and there are hundreds more than that. So, this is very very serious and hardly anyone knows about it. One troll manages 10 accounts, write 150-200 comments per day, is fluent with English, told to pose as Americans and westerners who vote. They comment in groups of 2-30 (web brigades) so they can reply to each other. They convince people that lots of people somehow share their views or belief of certain ideas or claims. Russia practices Oligarchy. But it's not localized to Russia, it's a global Oligarchy network of companies. Oligarchy is when the government gives it's money to business owners, they will become billionaires (always). In exchange for their obligation to promote Russian interest, and to participate with the other Oligarchs in constantly cycling money to keep it moving, so it can be moved anywhere without raising questions. You can imagine how effective it is in the Capitalism system, so, American politicians and influencers and business owners are very, very very easy for Russia to control. The Russian troll farms are just the "comment support" part of the process. They don't miss anything, this is how the Russia manages it's interest at home and over seas. I've been following these troll farms so years. It was through that process that I learned about the Oligarchy. The Oligarchy and the Russian troll farms are always in sync, they move together.
what always never made sense to me, and still does not today, is the comparison of surface area. USA = 9.8 million sq km Russia (2024 borders) = 17.1 million sq km Meaning: Russia is almost double the size of USA With that much land and all those resources (gas, oil, soil, metals, wood, coal, water, space, etc. etc. etc.) how bad and incompetent must governments be to be worse in every socio-economic aspect for over 2 centuries? If Russia would have been governed wise by good leaders (and I'm not thinking about superb leaders, just the average US-EU-leader from the past decades), it would have dominated the world after WWII and would today be number 1. Why are the USA so much more powerful? Because a strong democracy frees its people and when people are happy and not constantly robbed by kleptocrats, economies and nations thrive.
If the Democrats would dump Biden & Harris for a ticket comprised of Gen. Hodges and Gov. Andy Beshears, they would steamroll right over Trump / Vance. But the marxist wing of the Party would not likely allow such a substitution.
We are lucky to have men like Gen. Ben Hodges in the armed forces. We are lucky to live in societies that produced such men. Let's hope today's society remains capable of that, which is not very clear looking at today's politics and global mess. Irrationality on the rise.
right! I'm an american and he seems like the normal type of person we always had and still do. The only thing new is this rise of reactionary types including especially ultra rightwing
It's always the same terrible people that shouldn't be anywhere near the levers of power. tRump and his ilk shouldn't be in charge of a lemonade stand.
So and I am struggling if somebody thinks that it is possible to defeat Russia with 6000 nuclear weapons. And even think that we survive. American are dead wrong if they think that US will be not touched and only EU and Russia will be destroyed. Even I know that this is US dream
I hope the sanctions will stay in place even if Russia pulls out - maybe till they´ve paid recompension in one way or another. If sanctions are lifted - they are back in no time and better prepared this time!
@@RidleyHolmes-sr2tw Yes better than those morons. better than Biden, Harris and every idiot Democrat, but more importantly better than Trump. He is the man that could save presidency in 2024.
Jason, I feel like grocery prices in Los Angeles increased at the same rate as Russia. I don’t know if produce is a good measure of grocery inflation. But they’re going up here in LA.
Gen Hodges always makes sense especially when it comes to the use of weapons against military or logistic targets within Russia. Question for the general ... I distinctly heard several UK politicians say that Uk weapons could be used and that it is up to Ukraine how it uses them. How is then that now they are saying only on Ukraine soil. Has Mr Starmer gone back on our (UK's) word?
Let's hope common sense and decency prevails and if there's a change in the White house administration, the powers that be have the good sense to both listen and take advice from the likes of General Hodges. He deserves that respect !! GLORY TO UKRAINE
Maybe if Trump gets the presidency… he will tell Putin “ well , US , has been assisting Ukraine about ten per cent ,I imagine if we go 100% we will deal with you by tomorrow “
I have a dedicated browser tab that searches for Gen. B. Hodges, hoping for a new interview. After this, I go to my Jake B. tab. These 2 guys keep my head straight. Many thanks to Kyiv Post as well for having great guests.
Dear Mr. Hodges, you must grow so weary of having to reiterate the same message about the West and NATO needing to step up their game of full-bodied support to Ukraine so it can triumph over Russia once and for all (truly). Thank you for your unrelenting wisdom, strength, grace and fortitude. May God continue to bless you greatly.🌻❤☮❤🌻
If any of US Lt. Gen. Ben Hodges's countless prophesies had been correct, Kiev would long ago have won a victory over Moscow. (See for instance his 'A Path to Ukraine's Victory in 2023'). Incorrigible blockhead Hodges is still at it.
My wife is R@55'n and she still lives in M05-c0w (we met while I lived there for 6 years). She is a nationalist, irridentist, imperialist (self-described!) and just wants the whole old R@55'n Empire back and doesn't give a damn how many men die in the process. On BOTH sides. I think only massive inflation could curb her fanaticism. I keep telling her that if she weren't such a great WIFE, I would have divorced her long ago.
Never underestimate the tolerance of an imprisoned populace forced to endure privations etc by a totalitarian dictatorship, think Germany WW2, or N.Korea, Iran, Venezuela, Cuba, Zimbabwe, Myanmar etc etc now. As long as their militaries remain in control so will they. 😧 Always great to listen to Gen Hodges.
To put Russian casualties in perspective, they have lost more soldiers in these two and a half years of war than the USA did during all of WW2. Granted, WW2 lasted less than 4 years for the USA, but it is a staggering number. And still they call it a "special military operation", and you can get arrested for calling it anything else.
Ben has had this same talking point for the past two years. Unfortunately, the pusillanimous leaders of the EU, NATO and the US are not thinking this way. Obviously the EU, NATO and the US are militarily and economically stronger than Russia. But why is not the West providing more and current equipment to the Ukrainians. I’m guessing the West is planning on Ukraine and Russia to continue fighting until both have drained their manpower and equipment. I can’t imagine another reason why Ukraine is not getting better support from the West.
@@gardenjoy5223 It's looking more like Trump will win as the Democrats shoot themselves in the foot but I will continue to help Ukraine financially as I have in the past since U.S. aid will be cut off in the future with a Trump presidency.
Gen. Ben Hodges buja w chmurach.
Simple solution: get rid of Putin if Navalney for example was Russia's leader it would change peoples mindset vertually over night the world would accept a man with similar modern day thinking, having a leader like Putin that lives in the past is the catalyst for all Russia's current problems.
One thing the general does not mention is that for Ukraine to win this war will require active participation of NATO forces ,atleast 500k troops from NATO will be required to engage in active fighting along the frontline.
"what's to be done?" is a question at least as old as the publication of "War and Peace" and the title of a play about 19th century Russia, titled, yes, "What's to be done?" by Tom Stoppard.😉
Nothing much do with the topic of conversation here.. But does noone else find strange a country size of russia has only got 2 main citys and metropolitan bustling citys with country and population size russia it's crazy my eyes
It's true. Ruzzia doesn't have enough people to work the land it has now. There is no need for it to go steal Ukraine's land, even if the soil of Ukraine is far more fertile, and the climate more moderate, than most of ruzzia.
@Comm.DavidPorter think we know but it's nothing do with fertile soil for reason putin wants ukraine in his pocket .. its yes bread basket of europe they say.. but putin doesn't want it for wheat n corn .. he wants it so democracy doesn't get to close to him n his fragile empire .. and may even be truth in the theory that fighting for lithium deposits in ground which meant be loads
They have more major cities than that. But st petersburg and moscow are the centrepieces of the ruling Rus ethnic group. The Ural mountains demarcate ‘european russia’ from ‘asian russia’ and the European russians see the asian russians as lesser people. And they see the muslims of the caucasus the same way. What you have to remember is that the Mongol hordes appointed the prince of moscow as the Mongol’s tax collector in the west of the horde’s territory. Thats how the mongols ruled - hands off, but hand over the taxes you owe -including slaves - or there will be terror. That elevated the duchy of muscovy over the other western mongol territories. When the mongol hordes collapsed the duchy of muscovy basically reverse conquered the mongol territory, eventually butting into the persians and chinese conquering old mongol territory from the other direction. But under the mongols they all learned the same system of ruling - ignore the outer territories and let them do what they want as long as they pay their taxes. If they rebel, rain terror on them. Its not a coincidence that the problem countries ofthe world today - russia, china, iran, are all former territories of the mongol empire. Its also not a coincidence that the smaller countries that broke away from the soviet union are trying to throw off that mongol style system of rule by terror.
Who gave Ukraine lethal aid who without it would already be defeated? Trump. Biden gave them tents and MREs. Who put sanctions on the companies building Nord Stream 2? Trump. Biden lifted them on day two. Who closed the Russian Consulates in San Francisco and Seattle? Trump. Who Established the forward Army and Navy bases in Poland? Trump. Who increased the NATO budget from $66 Billion dollars in to $71 Billion in 2020? Trump. Who froze military aid to Ukraine on June 18th 2021? Biden. TDS is real. Get help before it’s too late.
I wish someone could talk to Jill Biden and make her realize her husband has zero chance of winning and the DNC nominate Gem Hodges for presidency. Trumped is not very loved but it is the hatred of Biden that pushes people to vote for him. Gen Hodges is a fresh blood who everyone can love.
Trump says what he says to get elected by hillbillies who don't want "thur money spent on fureners." He's smart and will squeeze Europe but he's not going to let Putin win.
Choices aren't limited to a binary set, and with the war being limited to the two current antagonists, a "win" by either side would require years and the damage that goes with it.
General...use of a nuclear weapon would have 'catastrophic' consequences'. But not necessarily anything done by the us or Europe. There would just be 'catastrophic consequences' of exploding a nuclear bomb.
