Beatlemania Reaction: what was it like to accompany The Beatles on tour? Ivor Davis travelled with The Beatles on their 1964 American Tour, and witnessed Beatlemania first-hand, from the screaming fans to watching The Beatles on stage.
However, Ivor was also with the Beatles backstage and witnessed their pre-show routines. However, Ivor got another taste of Beatlemania when the limo he was in was mistaken for The Beatles!
Ivor also discusses the various bands that he met and how The Beatles inspired so many others.

In August '64, The Beatles played in Seattle, then Vancouver, then went to Los Angeles. They had to make the trip twice between Vancouver and Seattle as their passport suitation wasn't taken care of. They never came back to Vancouver.

Problem with their passports? It must have been crazy back then.

I knew someone who was at the last concert at Candlestick Park. He said you couldn't actually hear them, but you could see them (without giant screen projection, of course)! Were all of the US venues simply using their existing PA systems that were really meant for sports?

I think so. There was no great PA rigs like there are now, so they used whatever they had available.

Still, wish I could have been there. I wasn't yet a teenager and we lived 4 hours away--no luck with prying permission from my parents. 🥲 It would have been so great though--and about much more than the performance, too. It's the whole scene, the rush, being there with them and everyone else so into it too. Wow.

@Susan-gr2xd Thankfully we are getting to read more and more accounts of the people who were there. They're the stories I love finding out about.
