The first Beatles American tour in 1964 was groundbreaking! Following their appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show, The Beatles embarked on their first American tour.
Journalist Ivor Davis was based in California, working for the Daily Express, Ivor was tasked with meeting up with The Beatles in San Francisco and joining their first American tour.
Ivor got to know John, Paul, George, and Ringo very well, as well as Brian Epstein, Neil Aspinall, and Mal Evans. Here, he shares some of those memories of travelling with The Beatles on tour as they experienced the highs and lows of their first American tour.
