Mike, you may feel the warmth of all these comments temporarily, but let me tell you that your tutorials will forever keep the flame of the beatles alive and the future generations that want to play their songs. And you will also be loved and appreciated forever. Thanks for everything.
Hi Mike.. I am soooo happy they found his lost cavern bass, in poor condition, and worth millions .. Paul must have had tears in his eyes when he was reunited with his revolutionary cavern bass..
Macca had those (John & George) who criticized his overbearing personality at times, yet he contributed bass and arrangements to their songs that transformed them. His bass playing is as good as his songwriting and singing. Paul was such a major factor in their success.
I can think of a few bass lines that are instantly recognizable to EVERY bassist… Another One Bites The Dust, Roundabout, Peter Gunn, Bernadette, and a few others. Come Together obviously makes the list, a the top! Thanks for sharing this lesson, great tune!
Thanks again Mike. So much appreciated. This is one of Paul’s most easiest bass lines. However, you have un-covered some subtle nuances that I have even missed! Again, you rock! ❤
It's a simple and easy to bass line to play, but it's extremely effective. I can't imagine this song with a different bass part. The deadened, swampy tone, the little slide, everything about it, is brilliant.
One of the greatest bass lines of all time that everyone learns when they start out, definitely one of my favourites and one of the first songs I used to test out my own Rickenbacker bass when I bought it back in the summer of 2020 and has been my main axe since. Definitely one of Paul’s absolute best bass parts, so damn good
Can't thank you enough Mr Mike. I discovered your channel yesterday with "The End" video, which was beyond awesome. It's great to see you keep uploading videos with the same contagious energy and enthusiasm over the years 🎉. Needless to say you have a new subscriber.
I'm Becoming a John Lennon impersonator ‚ but a few years ago ( still now sometime) i used to play bass and my höfner‚ i love the fact that you Explain bass parts too !!! Btw im learning a lot of John's parts on Guitar thank to you :) ❤
This is by far the most precise and complete dissection of this bass line! Amazing job Mike ! My only point is that, unless I hear it wrong, the little hammer-on that you make at the end of the third riff (8:08 on your video) start slightly too early if you compare with the way Paul plays it. But it could be me... For the rest, I stay completely impressed by the way you nailed all the aspects of his playing.
Gather all your back story's, slap in a book and you will have a great Coffee Table Book, Just sat for 2 hours today listening to your back stories on the Beatles recordings wonderful work Sir. DO you or know of anyone with recording knowledge of Gerry and the Pacemakers recordings or Billy J Kramer?
Hi Mike… have you ‘bunged’ a set of ‘Hofner-style’ short scale strings on the Rick. The silk windings passing the nut look very odd. Great vid, though. After years of playing it ‘wrong’, I’ve now gotta relearn it! 😢😢 Thanks… I think. 😬👍
Hi Mike. Quick question : what are the strings on your RB? Looks like it's short scale strings or ? (based on the black end on first fret or am I wrong?) which are these? btw, Thanks so much for doing the bass tutos. I've always missed that when you were doing your great guitar videos. Big fan of your work !
