Hey friends - here's my lesson that breaks down the classic Beatles intro guitar riff to "I've Just Seen a Face" (no capo, key of G). While this riff isn't terribly long, I'll go deep on the detail with teaching you how to play it: starting w/ the chord shapes, moving on to the progression, looking at the picking pattern, and then talking about dynamics & accents. I'll also show some options you have when it comes to playing this fingerstyle, using a pick, or using a hybrid approach. And don't forget, if you want to learn the full song -- I have that covered in its own separate video lesson (#298).
Note the PDF chord sheet for this video also includes notes on playing the full song.

I had a work accident, I run a printing press and lost half of my index finger of my picking hand. I'm also a beginner player a few months in. Do songs like this require finger picking? Or can it all be done with picking? Thats the only way I'm able to play.

I’m sure he knows it’s in the key of A originally but he’s doing us a favor us older folks to transcribe it in G to seeing it easier. Not too many people have young Paul McCartney’s high tenor

What is the picking sequence after the E minor Strum, please?
@Billsingsong

Please explain the order of the five notes you are playing after the E minor Strum. After E minor Strum, are you playing Strings GEGEG, or EGEGE?

After the base intro and the low E from the third fret to the second fret, Are you playing EGEGE? Or, EGEGEG? I am asking because throughout the Rest of the intro there are six notes not five: GEGEGE

After you strum the E minor chord, I see there are only five notes as compared to the rest of the song where there are six notes three pairs of two. Therefore, my question is after you strum the E minor chord, what string do you pluck first the G or the E? After the E minor chord, what is the string Picking order of the following five notes? After the Em strum, do you go to the G string or the E string? Please explain, because I watched your entire video and it does not tell me this.

Can you please raise your volume it’s hard to hear you and I have my volume all the way up on my iPhone. Also can you please show each chord as a large diagram where it can be seen easily.You’re going to fast and you’re all over the place but appreciate you doing it in the key of G easier to sing thank you

After the E minor Strum, Your chord Chart shows five notes, not six notes like the rest of the song. What string, the E or the G, follows the E minor strum Because there are five notes following the E minor Strum not six
