I'm sure you know this already, but since you mentioned searching... You can use the keyboard to search in the current folder (just start typing when you're in load mode). That can still be a pain depending on how you have things organized, since you still have to navigate to the right place first, but it does help to find the 2 kick samples in a giant folder of random sample files...
This is my first look at the Deluge. The aesthetics are wild. It’s like an old Casio calculator mixed with a panel station wagon, that crashed into a 70’s disco light floor.
The Deluge is such a magical device, easy enough for a beginner but in the hands of someone who knows what they're doing it turns into an absolute little beast of a groovebox. Nice job.
Man, I really need to put some good samples in my deluge. It seems to go so far in creating better lo-fi/chillhop which is my favorite genre to make. Amazing work Jeremy!
What a great beat! I've found that while creating patches and kits is a bit (a lot) of a hassle, the clip-building and performance aspect of the Deluge is truly amazing. Neat loop machine aswell.
Agreed if Deluge had a more usable screen it would be out of this world. I hope Rohan is up for doing a v2 someday. (Of course I still think Deluge is amazing)
If they have enough room to add it to the firmware, they could support an external display that gets updated over MIDI, perhaps with a pass-though since you mostly only need it during editing mode.
Absolutely, it's great even with the screen and once you get used to it, it's usable (if a bit slow and cumbersome) but if they could build a V2 and put a nice small OLED screen in with a bit more info, then it would take it up a few notches. Love mine though and would buy again in a heartbeat.
Deluge is yum. Jeremy RMR is awesome. I'm pretty sure chillhop is what the CIA plays though your IPX7 earbuds while they waterboard you. That's on Monday, Wednesday, Friday. Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday is smooth jazz. Sunday off, natch. Day of rest. :)
That's one of the more pleasing digital metronome sounds I've heard. The one in the SP samplers is an ear raper. Nice content, duder. I've been thinking about getting a Deluge for quite a while now.
Just got mine in the mail 2 days ago, there is a way to use the 'keyboard' to search for samples. Just FYI. I can look up the exact controls later if anyone is curious. Loved the video!
I know you said you wouldn't finish it, but seeing the Synthstrom again really makes me wanna see you finish the cover of Brothertiger's Beyond The Infinite you made...
Ok, thats a deal. I will absolutely support and follow your channel from here on out, pending one condition......You must never place another synthesizer in a tree for as long as you shall remain on this mortal earth. # synthesizersarbhortrees
Love your videos, always inspires me to play more with my deluge. I have some of the same frustrations with the sample loading, and i really find the isomorphic keyboard system wonky, as a pianist, i would much prefer octaves rather than fourths...oh well. They want it to be like a guitar.
The way you started this jam made me wonder what you think about starting songs with drums first, or not. For me, starting with drums sometimes leads to the same old musical phrases. I suppose it depends on what you're making.
Ever try Downrush by Jamie Fenton with a Toshiba FlashAir SD card? Seems like it might provide some of the functionality you are looking for with regards to sample sorting, search, etc.
Hi, I love to watch your tutorials and I'm so impressed what skills you have and knowledge. I was trying Maschine app on my laptop with my komplete 32 but anytime I just fell it's not what I like. I'm planning to buy hydrasynth desktop plus groovebox/sampler and here I have a question, would you be possible to make this same project as you did on Deluge with Roland MC 707 ? What do you think about this setup MC707 + hydrasynth ? My genre is electronic music plus recording real instruments and creating some own samples. I'm not lessoning techno or hip hop music but really like atmospheric, space, deep sound ( I like the electron sounds but too expensive for me) Sorry for many questions but just wonder what would you recommend? Best Regards.
I think you can do more or less the same things on both machines, they just have a different interaction/workflow, and the synth sounds are probably different too
what's the benefit to using this as opposed to just using a DAW??? Not a critique just a curious question, I'm not that knowledgeable on music hardware.
Have you linked the Deluge to your modular yet? Ive been thinking about using expert sleepers fh2 to turn the Deluge in to a sequencing god. Imagine having modulation CV and Gate on the Deluge screen!
@@RedMeansRecording every time I look at buying a sequencer, the deluge does it better. At the moment I'm stuck with the normal outs... But with midi to cv-gate I think it's Gona be super Powerful.
Depends on how you want to use it. You could cook up some stems on the OP-1, hook it up via usb to transfer the files, and finish them off in Garage Band without an audio interface.
Red means you are poor and can’t afford this since you spent all your money on Logic Pro x and is 12 wth no pocket money please have sympathy for me oh god I wanna die
