Beau's one hour funky ride and Fjord's worried for his first mate. Gosh I love them ---- Disclaimer No I do not own any of this. This belongs to Critical Role Critical Role can be found: RU-vid: / @criticalrole Twitch: / criticalrole
I love how the exact second that Cad says "I cast Calm Emotions," Beau immediately chills out. It is so fast, Marisha was really in the moment with Tal.
"Caduceus like took me in an alley way and then told me, that he was gonna make me my best self." "I assumed you could hold your shit, I'm so sorry" Some of the best lines of this.
@@taylamuller1811 And I like to imagine (even though it was never stated at all) that the effects interact with each other strangely, either weirding or adding extra (more subtle) effects. Just because I think it's hilarious.
I could understand fjord maybe, but beau the parent of the group? she acts like an angsty horny teenaher, if anybody is the parent its Cad, excluding this singular drug dealing eque moment
@@mrHellkid1 Cad is the grandparent. Super chill, lets the kids get away with pretty much anything while the parents are trying to rein them in. And Beau tends to take a bit of a motherly role, but a young mom who is trying to still be cool. Someone kind of thrust into a leadership role by default, rather than growing into it.
Comedy gold. Proof positive that improv runs deep with the group. Taliesin suggesting a scene, Sam giving it fuel, Marisha running with it, Travis becoming her “yes and” man, and timely “audience ideas” by Matt & Liam. 15mins of solid entertainment.
Matt has said that Travis throws him off more than anyone, including Laura. He's so "in the moment" and willing to do something stupid, like touch a ruby that he has no idea what it's going to do, that Matt is literally scared when Travis does something.
I love how it's not just comedy gold but roleplay gold as well. Marisha didn't have to play it off like someone tripping balls but she played it so well. Matt feeding her some visions and stuff to play off as well, just such an impressive cast.
I love friendships where both are smart and capable people on their own but when you put them together they are the equivalent of "My last two braincells" Fjord and Beau are those friends.
I think that’s Beau’s daddy issues combined with Fjord’s insecurities. They are following each other in a bumbling circle, and it’s glorious to watch XD
I think Marisha probably would have been happy to be a super-spy with a slightly crazed look on her face, but then the rest of the party focused on Essek. That was clearly where the metaphorical main course of the plot stuff was, which meant she and Travis were suddenly the B-Plot, so she seamlessly pivoted into being the comic relief for the rest of the scene, and it was glorious!
This is peak D&D. This is improvisation. This is collaboration. This is "Yes, and..." This scene has cosmic chaotic dumbass energy, Marisha and Travis were in rare form. What an amazing experience. I love this show.
Honestly I think he just got her high. Like I know Taliesin said he cast true sight but in my mind Caduceus just threw mushroom juice in her eye and went “You now have the power of True Sight!”
@@DeathnoteBB my head canon has always been that Cadeuces casted so many different spells on her, they all just started interacting with each other in weird ways. Tongues, then True Sight, and then finally Calm Emotions just pushed it over lol
"its so much weirder receiving one of those messages...at least she didn't ask me if I was pooping" the messages adventures at the end are just so great.
@Kristopher Chavez I would say Fjord would be one of the older kids in this analogy since he humors the rest by going along with there shenanigans but tends to be the adult in the room with Cad and Caleb when shit is serious. Though Caleb also has a very childish black and white mentality to a lot of things especially earlier in the campaign.
@Kristopher Chavez ya he has a laugh with them but for beau anyway he is her rock, teaching her how to people and not be as much of an asshole, building her confidence by making her first mate and most of all laying down the law when she is being stupid and short sighted.
Nothing beats the "M9 teleports horses through all the Cobalt Soul locations" but it comes very close xD I think I laugh harder each time I see this one!
In this moment, he and everyone present, both on the table and in the audience as well as most people watching the stream, expercienced quite a hilarious and joyful moment. However, Marisha said on Talks that Talisien was kinda unhappy how the usually very inquisitive Beauregard "utilized" those two buff spells, True Seeing in particular, being a 6th level Spell.
@@TheOnlyRealIRONicMAN I don't think so. Two of the parts that were cut from this were: 1. In the middle him saying "this is all I ever wanted" 2. At the end of everything he says "best level 6 spell I ever burnt" Not even counting how much he breaks laughing the whole time
It just hit me that had Beau not told Caleb to send Frumpkin to go into the Cerberus Assembly’s boat and spy on Essek, they would’ve found out about Essek at the party after Caduceus cast True Seeing on Beau. And I’m so curious as to what that situation would’ve been like.
Mrc V it would probably be the same. They would still plan during the party a way to kidnap him and question him. Beau would probably yell first and freak out even more and then try to be subtle while telling the others. I hope
I think one of my favorite parts about this, aside from all of it, is Travis's face when Jester sends Message and finishes with her signature "do-do-do-do-do" 😂
Well of course, an ancient being would totally be at all the ragers when a new psychedelic was discovered. Who knows he may have discovered the effects of shrooms.
Taliesin: Let me pry open that third eye for you... Marisha: AUUUUUGHHHHH... Taliesin: ...and here's something to chill you out. Marisha: ...HHHHHHkhhhuh... Taliesin: Later!
Honestly this episode, other than the pure tidbits and wholesome roleplaying we have witness, and the shenanigans this group goes through. Hearing Liam laugh over the sea of laughter and his reactions is the cherry on top.
10:14 best way to fool the guards Fjord: "Oh ooh oooh is he invisible!?!" *says this while flailing wildly* *The guards see this* Fjord: "The ruby of the sea!" XD
I think it's so funny how the rest of the cast is in sparkly fantasy outfits and Travis is just there in his black CR hoodie like it's any other Thursday 😂
I feel like they go that extra mile for live shows and I love it. Beau has just let herself all out in front of the group and I think that shows familiarity and character growth.
I was at this live show, and it was just SO incredibly hysterical to see in person. You can hear the audience laughing as they go, but it was so much *more* when we were actually there.
Travis and Marisha are the two kids in class that, after a few weeks of them being together in the back of the room, you sit them far, FAR apart from one another for sanity's sake.
I am in awe at the acting and improv skills of this group. You look at Travis and think he's going to squash something but he rolls with it so well. Marisha is throwing stuff out and it's almost like the audience and group reactions are giving her a reason to ramp it up some more. Plus this was all done live? So damn solid.
This is a masterclass in improv and the "Yes, And" technique, but what just puts it over the top for me is Travis' expressions. The dude has some of the best facial and body comedy of the cast, and it's on perfect display with this scene. I don't even know how many times I've watched it.
I'm a huge fan of the Darksiders game series especially Liam O'Brien as War. He sounds so badass and cool and all business...and then I find out Liam is a dork who, in his spare time, plays DnD with a bunch of other well known voice actors. I love it so much.
this is the best moment in the campaign, if not tied with "Nott shoots beau over a tree" and "jester's cupcake" ...and perhaps fjord and jester at the end ❤
I was turned on to Critical Role about a year ago, and i've caught up entirely from episode 1 to current on campaign 2 - and there is great character chemistry between each of these people. Beau and Fjord have great chemistry. It makes me wish i could find a long term game with people like this. Seems like so much fun.
