Scanlan and Vax opening the temple door | Critical Role 

The funny part is that statistically, the three most intelligent characters of the party couldn’t get a door open.

Vox Machina: they defeat Beholders, Demons and Dragons in a couple of minutes, but it takes 8 minutes, three people and three spells to unlock a barred door, and Scanlan gets injured in the meantime :D

When i saw this scene in the legend of vox machina i KNEW it had to be a nod to failed rolls, and yes, here it is, verbatum

It took 8 minutes, three people, three spells, and a few ounces of gnome blood... all to open a wooden door.

Welcome to D&D, where you can kill a boss in 10 in game seconds, yet opening doors take 10 real minutes.

Starting at about 6:45, when Scanlan, Vax and the Unseen Servant can't budge the wooden bar, Marisha sums it up perfectly: "Man, Laura and Travis ain't missing shit".

Then they went off to kill a vampire with a strength-sapping demon sword and an incredibly deadly necromancer.

Scanlan: "No! A door! My one weakness!"

That "how do you wanna do this" from Taliesen was amazing. :D

I love this scene. This is just the stupidest thing that has ever happened. Scanlan got injured while trying to open a damn door. That took so much effort. I love it. Never stop laughing.

I just got into d&d bc my girlfriend plays. So she suggested watching critical roll bc we play ffxiv and talisen (percy) and Sam (scanlan) were both in it for the base game before it expanded. So I've been watching vox machina after I get to the parts in critical roll. I'm onnthe last episode now. And its funny. She didn't even know I love laura Bailey so much. I watched qnimes with her in it just bc of her. Fruits basket was the first I watched of hers and me and my mom watched it together so it's special.
