Is the opening under the cockpit to cool the motor? And are those missles on each side? Do these planes have machine guns? Like in the movie Independence Day?
They are dummy missiles, I don't exactly know why they "load out" with these but anything loaded off the wings increases drag and adds weight to the fighter. Pilots really like slick-wings (nothing attached or loaded out) because they are faster, can climb faster than aircraft that are loaded, it's more fun for the pilot. I was a crew chief for 11 years on fighters to include the F-15 and F-16's and A-10's. I saw fighters take off and land (some unsuccessfully) for 11 years and that sound brings me home.
There is just something about starting the F16 up in the morning sun, then who knows if it is JET-1 or JET-2 (what is the difference?) but then just taxi on the wet taxiways from the beautiful Hardened Aircraft Shelter or HAS to the runway and give it full afterburner. That feeling to walk up with your suit wet/condensation to the F-16 is amazing! I can’t get enough of photos and videos of fighters taxiing out of their shelters!
2 four formation 1 aircraft J-063 have MIG-29 kill mark on it so this is aircraft which shoot down it in BALKANS theater and can dutch guy tell me why there serial start with J thanks
Good videoreport of the departures, nice to see these jocks busy in their 'office' before departing. Great weather, it's been a good choice to go to Volkel yesterday!
Waste of video. Any jet lover appreciates the plane itself, but the excitement comes from seeing an afterburner takeoff. Out of 8 planes you showed only 2 afterburner takeoffs.
Vroeger werd er aardig gevlogen maar tegenwoordig zijn het nog maar een paar vluchten per dag.Bijna niet meer de moeite waard om te gaan kijken, laat staan te werken ;-(
