BEAUTIFUL MOMENTS WITH MY FILIPINO FRIEND AND GIRLFRIEND IN THE PHILIPPINES (Guiuan, Eastern Samar)

Even though we were having drone issues, my first day in Guiuan Eastern Samar was truly a beautiful one!
This part of the Philippines is full of so many beautiful coastlines! The surf was pumping, the beaches were raw, and the vibes with were amazing! I had so many beautiful moments with my Filipino friend Kumar and of course my girlfriend Therine who was visiting on this trip!
This is just a raw look at our first day in Guiuan, Eastern Samar!

I'm just happy to see that Guiuan got back on its feet after Yolanda. I was in Tacloban and Guiuan as part of a volunteer search and retrieval team 4 days after Yolanda hit and those places were like scenes from an old Mad max movie. And its so pleasant to see cheerful and smiling faces again in that place. Nice one again brad! Ayos! ;-)

You already know I love ALL your videos. With each one I continue to have challenges finding new positive ways that I haven't used yet in which to describe how much I enjoy them. Your choice of music also seems to perfectly fit each one. Watching your videos is like having my coffee in the morning. I try not to ever let your new videos go a day without me viewing them. They, along with those from your FIGHTER BOYS buddies, are what keep me continuously motivated to get back to the Philippines next year. I'm actually an IRISH TEXAN and have always desired to go to Ireland; and I still do; but then I met my sweet Filipina a few years ago and now my love for the Philippines has sort of gotten in the way of my going to Ireland anytime soon. Maybe one day; but not before my third trip to the Phils. ROCK ON KULAS!

Hi Kulas. It's nice to see Guiuan rise up after Yolanda. Been there right after Yolanda for a medical mission and it's a totally different place. Filipinos can really rise up to any challenge. Love lots Kulas and Kumar

Kyle.....thank you for sharing your footage of Guiuan and the happy people!! It is great to see they are rebuilding the area. My mother is from Guiuan and her home was damaged during Yolanda, but our family there continued to be positive and stay spirited to rebuild. I was born and raised in the US and I have only visited Guiuan once when I was younger. I really regret not taking the opportunity to go back and visit, especially when my mom routinely visits every 2 years or so. Sometimes we get so absorbed in our daily lives and routines, that we forget to take time for ourselves and explore. I have been following your channel for a while now, and I admire how you embrace and respect the Filipino people and the culture!! I am planning to visit the Philippines next year and super excited to share that experience with my own kids. I want them to see the beauty of their Lola's country and home town!!

We just went around Samar especially on that area, it's really beautiful place! There is a cave there and had a huge nice water inside! It's good when you feel really hot!

Explore Samar and you will be enticed. Eastern, western and Northern part of the Island has its own unique beauty. Nature truly blessed that part of the Philippines. I just hope frequent visitors of the Island will be responsible enough to maintain the beauty of the Island .

it used to be a very beautiful resort. a surfing paradise with first class facilities but was devastated by the Typhoon Yolanda in 2013. Guiuan was a secret US Military base. it had airport and sea port built by the americans till the early 60's the airport was still used commercially.

yes, my mother said they were able to attend the concert of Glenn Miller Orchestra as they were entertaining the US troops there. They would go there hitchhiking the US trucks from their hometown in Borongan. I hope you are able to visit down there passing by the towns of Salcedo, Hernani, Llorente, Maydolong, Bagacay and Borongan. they have beautiful beaches.

i was able to visit the bunkers located at the center of the town. they have turned it into schools (high school), Guimbaolibot high school but this story about Guiuan as a secret military point was never revealed in history books.

guiuan was a former US Naval base one of d.biggest american base in d far east in d yr 1940s. the whole part of guiuan was literally american base stretching until up north to salcedo to part of calicoan to d nearby islands of manicani and tubabao.. calicoan area is d depot supply, mercedes which that time was still part of guiuan., bobon where pt boat is located. used to be said that kinnedy was assigned there, manicani was a dry dock or repair base for big ships , salcedo part is for ammunition and artillery, they built jetty port or wharves in guiuan as well still existing, and they build two run ways paralleel to each other, the essu university was onced part of d camp and d cemetery as well ,, they have hospitals somewhere in mercedes now a separate town, in tubabao a receiving station.. after d war yr 1949 to.51 white russians came to guiuan and settled in tubabao island they came as refugges as d.tension of communism spread across asia that time particulary south east asia the height of d cold war..

Kulas really knew how to deal with people and he feels with joy each and everyone he met. That is why he is loved by the Philippines and loved peraonally by a very simple and pretty woman. I just hope your relationahip will come into fruition. I envy you kulas Iam a Filipino and not loved by my ex gf. What a great place to surf, probably the next best thing to Siargao. Leyte is still undiscovered. Ive heard Masbate has beautiful beaches. Take us there Kulas !!!

I so envy your life right now it’s not even funny! 🙁 You’re Canadian living in the Philippines enjoying life, work and going to awesome places all around the country meeting locals and learning about anything under the sun! I’m a Filipino Canadian here in Canada working hard for my kids future and my retirement and hoping and wishing that someday I can go to the Philippines, retire there and enjoy the remainder of my life. You are a smart cookie I must say and I’m happy that you’ve found your happiness in the Philippines. I told my kids when we go visit the Philippines, we’ll do the same thing you do and unplanned our visit and just go with the flow! 😊 btw, you should do good by your nobya, she’s a keeper!
