Your channel is truly my absolute FAVORITE! something about your calm voice, is so reassuring. Your home, style, family life, is everything I hope to create in our own home. It was 2 yrs. ago , after watching your VEDA series that I began seriously contemplating RETIREMENT. And I am glad to say, I have just celebrated 2 yrs. of retirement, that past May. It was the JOY i felt watching you, in your daily life as a faith filled mother and wife that connected with my soul. I've subscribed to several homemaking channels over the years, but for various reasons stopped watching them because of content change. I've stayed with you since the early years, because of your consistent down to earth homey content and your continual love for the Lord and your family! I recommend Rose Tone by Espoma once a month. For the roses. "Feeding " them regularly makes a huge difference.

I loved this video. I agree wholeheartedly - taking care of my home increases my gratitude and also contentment. I always clean up as I go about cooking& baking and reuse items. It is efficient and helps prevent overwhelm at the end of the process.

I love how you loosely structure your summer days. I’ve always found that same approach to be helpful in my home as well. I had Keys for Kids when I was a girl. We listened to the Keys for Kids Children’s Bible Hour with Uncle Charlie regularly. They would act out the stories. I had some friends who sang in the choir. I live in West Michigan about 30 minutes away from Grand Rapids where this ministry is located. Such good lessons. Seeing the devotional in your pile brings back some good memories. 🥰

Try feeding your roses more heavily. Maybe half again as much as recommended. And use a fertilizer specified for roses. 🤗. The Plot is very good. 👍🏻

I don’t usually prune my knock out roses and over the years they’ve gotten very big and are covered with roses. If they get too tall I trim them a bit, but I leave the roses on and they bloom all summer.

If they get too big I trim them down in early spring, but there’s no need to prune them like other rose bushes.

Always your videos they never disappoint. Can you show more of the cooking bowels, pans and platters that one needs for an efficient kitchen. For example what kind of bowls do you use to marinate meat or defrost meat or storing leftover food in the refrigerator. You so well organized and until you write your book on kitchen organizing, it would be a great help to all of us. I will be your first customer when you publish your book

We have never trimmed the knockout roses until Jan. We never cut the blooms off.

I have planted moon flowers years ago and they were amazing! Large dinner plate size and they seem to glow at night with white blooms, my kids loved them so much growing up on the fence. I just planted seeds and can’t wait for them to bloom. Love, a huge fan of your channel. ♥️🙏♥️

I’m an amateur gardener as well, but I think I figured by observing them for 2 years now on why my roses are all packed with blooms. My roses in the backyard always gets full sun the entire morning and the front yard roses gets full afternoon sun. They’re blooming like lunatics! 😂 I experimented by transferring one bush of roses to a new location that is kinda shady, the blooms are delayed, small and not that many.

I’m always so happy to see you back and doing well. You are so consistent with videos I begin to worry that something is not okay in your life if a few are missed. I’m Canadian and yes so many fires going on, not near where I live Thankfully but some in Ontario, some out West and some out East. I feel for those in the midst of them, including all the animals. I’m in Ontario but not close to Quebec where there have been fires also. We have had lots of smoke here also. Thanks for your thoughts.

Dear Hillary! I was so happy to see your new blog today! I realize you have to take a break so you can be a mom and wife, but I missed you so much! I live in Halifax Nova Scotia where a very large wild fire has been burning. Sadly, 51 homes have been destroyed and about 50 other structures- businesses etc. Luckily there have been no injuries or deaths, although some families lost their pets. My husband has been helping with food/ meal deliveries for folks who had to evacuate, and the first responders. ( Our church- The Salvation Army has been part of the support!) I have several book suggestions for you- I can email you, if you don’t mind sending it to me! Thank you for your prayers for the people affected by these fires. There is another larger fire still burning on the South shore of our province. In fact the largest ever in Nova Scotia, so prayers are so welcome!🥰🙏

A girl after my own heart with the sheets under the bed. Nothing worse than getting busy, going to bed and realizing your sheets are in the dryer. After years of wrestling with my tiny, always messy linen closet bought those under bed storage bags and have one extra blanket, one pillow and one set of sheets under every bed. I cut down on all the towels and just keep 4 to 6 in each bathroom. I hang my table linens on hangers in the laundry.

I don't share a ton of recipes, if I use one I include it in the description box. For this recipe I just used jarred marinara that I add extra fresh garlic and herbs to.
