Oh My God! I saw Melissa this Sunday and she was stunning! She really embodies the character and I can see that she is having the best time. I loved it so much, that I am going back to see her again, tonight. I'm so happy that her dreams are coming true. She is amazing and.... I'm just speechless.

Hopefully this doesn't ruin it.... She is playing but sort of faking it. The piano is coming from a separate piano in the orchestra. He is playing along to Melissa so the sound we hear is coming from his. If she messes up you won't notice too.
In the clip she is not playing it, but in an interview from the other day she mentioned how she knows how to sight-read and how nervous she was about playing the piano because Carole King played it so much. I'm pretty sure she plays it for real during the actual performances.
in beautiful (the broadway version), every single performance the carole would mime-play the notes on the piano. an actual member in the orchestra is playing downstairs so the piano sound is clearer or something.
