Don't hold your breath! These are the same people who blasted, beheaded the Buddha's in the 80s/90s. Now they need to feed their population they have thought of the importance of these sites. Recently a 2000 yr old statue of Buddha was found in Pakistan under someone's house which was beaten with shoes and then destroyed. This is the mentality of people in those regions. The site might survive for a few more years even with extra funding because the people will still go ahead and mine that area. The only hope for these sites to survive is if the majority of people understand and accept their history other than Islam.

it's because your brain does not develop over time. Preserving ancestral heritage is the same as we are devoted to our parents. Changing a new religion does not mean destroying ancestral heritage, it is very rebellious .. and even if your group wins the war there is no need to remove the history of the territory that has been defeated.

There are no details of destruction of temples in India by muslims in history except the the destruction of Somanat temple by Mehmood Ghaznawi due to using it against Afghan muslim rulers as a militry head quarter .
