Was just about to comment on that. Belle learns how to recognize REAL and specifically Real Love. I'd also call that changing. They both help each other flourish. Beast is just as important for Belle's story and fate as she is for his.

Emma, WHAT?! The ENTIRE _Tale As Old As Time_ song was about _mutual_ change. Belle learns to recognize Beats's efforts to grow and meets him halfway to show she sees him; the dinner scene being the perfect example or that. He eats like a beast, she's disgusted, he sees she's afraid of it then tries to use a spoon that he physically can't wield correctly. She sees he's trying, so she finds the middle ground and PUTS HER SILVER SPOON DOWN to both politely sip from the bowl. It's a perfect visual metaphor for adapting, growth, and mutual change in relationships.

They had to make do with what she would agree to. She has some misplaced ideas about feminism so she refused to wear a corset which meant she wouldn’t be able to support a big poofy dress. It had to be done over in CGI. It’s not the costume teams fault, it’s hers as she let misinformation get the best of her.

@@happyllama1160 Nope. Not just a corset, anything that "suppressed" women. Which you actually NEED things such as corsets, petticoats, etc. as they support the weight of the dress. Without, you only are able to do so much with the dress. The designer of the dress even said that not being allowed to add ball gown dress support made her honestly upset because she had so many gorgeous ideas and they all immediately had to go down the drain because of that.

This and Cinderella are the only live action adaptations that i like. This being the top. I like that they made their Beast more relatable to Belle. To show that he also loves to read explained why Belle and Beast connected. It made the Beast on the same intellectual level as Belle. He maybe a Beast but he is smart. It elevated Belle’s standards in men. This showed that Belle is not attracted to looks but to intellect and character.

Can we all agree that Belle’s dress in the remake was atrocious. All the other costumes in the movie fit the time period and aesthetic, but Belle’s dress looked nothing like the original. It was not a flattering shade of yellow. It looked more like a prom dress than a ball gown from that time period.

@@strugglingcollegestudentthat’s kind of true. I didn’t really get ‘Belle’ from the play. It really just felt like Emma Watson and the Beast. The singing she did was also bad compared to what could’ve been done had they used a professional.

I wish Belle’s dress had more tule underneath for a more breathtaking look when she spins, like in the cartoon version. But, I’d understand why they needed to pick this dress for any specific reasons.

This is just my opinion but when my kids and I tried to watch it on Disney plus it was a horrible movie. I love beauty and the beast. Favydisney movie but this one was awful. My kids after 45 min said mom.... please turn it off. This is not good

Belle goes from a peasant to essentially royalty with command of a household, she goes from afraid to annoyed to in love with her captor, she goes from an odd, semi intelligent loner to being a kept woman who realistically doesn't have actual adventures she dreamt of but succumbs to Stockholm syndrome and is happy to hang around a castle, she goes from realistic dreaming to fantasy reality....she changes constantly 😂😂😂😂
