Hairdresser and beauty obsessive Corinne Harrison meets teacher Simon Moore. Corinne spends up to £3,000 a month of her beauty treatments and has had two boob jobs leaving her with no sensation in either breast.
Exploring the issues of discrimination surrounding how we look, each episode pairs two people - one obsessed with intense personal vanity and one with a facial disfigurement. They spend time in each other’s lives and understand the differences and similarities between them.

Its strange as when i started watching i thought Corrine was shallow and vain but she is such a lovely person I hope that she sees that. Once you look through her exterior I saw such a bright and caring woman. Lovely Programme Simon is awesome

Looks have no correlation to being a decent person, however we can't pretend that people (especially women) are judged so much for their looks. It shouldn't be like that, but it is.

Yeah and part of that is purely biological I think, humans are at first naturally drawn to things that are symmetrical etc.. Not just in other people but flowers, furniture etc. And yes the "importance" is over-emphasised. Indeed looking pretty has nothing to do with who you are on the inside. I noticed too, long ago I had a boyfriend who wasn't a model at all.. He had a big scar on his stomach, a big crooked nose.. But the longer I was with him the more beautiful his "off" features became to my eyes. I guess I started looking with my heart instead of my eyes. And yeah I have literally experienced myself too how we're judged (and we judge others) having had for years a bad skin-condition in my face that would come and go. Strangers look at and treat you differently for sure depending on what you look like. The best thing indeed is to make peace with and embrace which ever suit we're in for the moment and rock it from the inside :)

Corinne is a super sensitive soul and empathetic. This is her best asset, rather than her beauty. I know this because of how she reacts when she first meets Simon and hears his story and when she meets the director of the beauty pageant whose mum passed away. The grandma would have been an especially terrible influence for sensitive Corinne because she is so sensitive and wouldn't have had any boundaries when she was younger. I think she would also have had a lot of racist comments growing up. Again, I think she is just a hypersensitive person who internalised all this instead of having strong boundaries.

I can relate to Corrine so much. I have a black father and white mother, my dad wasn't around that much when i was a kid, and i was adopted by a white family. When i was a kid i didn't experience many issues, but when i hit secondary school I had my hair relaxed and started to feel somewhat embarrassed i was black, even though on the inside i was actually very proud of my skin colour. I think what's missing on this programme is no one is helping her work on herself inside, because she won't stop or change just by telling her. She needs to work on her core wounds from childhood and her dad leaving, and her gran needs to take more responsibility for how she raised her to think she wasn't good enough.

Simon is articulate , wise and insightful from a loving kind family. His disability is visible , Corine doesn’t look like she has one but she does it’s just invisible and internal. What types of men does corine attract , nothing as good as Simon!

Do these people really think having fake everything is the way to be beautiful cuz I completely disagree! No one is perfect and no amount of surgeries will make them perfect. We all have insecurities but what type of person you are in your heart is what's really important, I belive that 💯%, there are WAY more important things in life than looks , the way you treat others and your core values are what's important.If your a crappy person and all your worried about is the way you look then you'll find out fast when ( God forbid) something happens and you have pushed everyone else away how lonely life will be.

It was so thoughtful and such a beautiful act him surprising her with the Jamaica trip. I can relate to the feelings of lost and acceptance and unworthy. Im half Tongan and American and my Dad walked out and he got deported back to Tonga. I've always wanted to go back to Tonga and see my culture that I know little about. I think when a parent abandons a family and your half a culture. You're not white enough to be white you're not half of the other half to be that. It's really confusing. But this story was beautiful and i hope Corrine can see how beautiful she truly is inside and out.

What is inside was once outside. I have the same insecurities as her, because I was bullied to the extreme by racists about my skin colour (and my hair). This happened in all stages of school, in college and workplaces. I honestly don't think I'll ever be happy with my skin due to all the bullying, mockery and the way that society accepts this vile racism. My parents whittled my self-esteem down to near nothingness, which made my traumatic experiences with other people worse than necessary. Before any of this, I was always a hypersensitive child. I felt everything deeply, both joy and sadness. I think Corinne is possibly a bit like this. You don't 'grow out' of it.

It’s not gran…Corrine’s problem stems from abandonment and a feeling of unworthiness from Dad leaving when she was very young. She obviously is missing love from Dad & in turn hates him for leaving her, which she feels created an emptiness in her…she now tries to fill herself up with beauty treatments in the attempt to make herself worthy and lovable.

I wish we could be in each there’s heads even just for an hour understand each other better I feel like lost people can imagine roughly how it feels fr most things but I really don’t think anyone can comprehend what it feels like to live with a disability that impacts you and he people receive you Nor can we really imagine what it’s like to live with an illness that makes you believe you are a walking deformity or monster Whilst physical differences can be overcome the mental stigma and hardship can either make you a resilient person or a very hurt person Wether this is mental or physical they have more in common with the mental hardship side of stuff than they realise but they’re polar opposite worlds Yet wi the out realising it they would have at nenpoj t had similar feelings without realising it By all means not saying these two ppl r the same Just saying they can understand each ther in a way because wether what she thinks is right about herself or ko she believes it
