I love the ideals behind La Roche Posay but find my skin prefers Avene, another wonderful French brand which is great for sensitive skin. I get occasional perioral dermatitis so have to avoid toothpaste with SLS which means I tend to get either Sensodyne or Toms. Greetings from the Scottish Highlands.

Hi Susan! I heard charcoal can be harmful to your teeth, especially if your teeth are sensitive (like myself). I read it in an article and it was later confirmed by my hygienist. I know this is a sponsored video and everything, I just wanted to put out a little bit of a warning that you may want to look further into charcoal. Hi Susan you probs wont see this and I'm a big fan and I 100% trust you with all your opinions. I'm part of the dental game and since Ive noticed you have such a care for your well being and inner beauty I wanted to warn you. I WOULD NOT recommend a whitening or charcoal tooth paste. It doesn't actually whiten like u think. It's very abrasive and actually slowly wears away your enamel and in the end they'll go more yellow because the dentin layer underneath your enamel is yellow and you're getting closer to that layer. Professional whitening is a lot better. Please dont hate me I'm just concerned. Love you xx

Hi. Charcoal is really bad for your teeth! It is breaking down the enamel which in the long run will make the dentin (has a yellow colour) show more and eventually your only option will be veneers...

Be careful of whitening toothpaste! Removing surface stains sounds great, but to do that the toothpaste is also removing the surface of your teeth! The best way for white teeth is to get personalized whitening trays made and use them with bleaching solution (with peroxide as a active ingredient)

I like the way how you being straight forward about what to use and not to use. I am very picky to skin care products cause I'm scared to try that might face gonna break out. Your the only one who caught my attention about skin care cause I don't trust to so many products now. Some of them they used the product that they endorsed. I didn't comment in youtube channel. Just here. I just want to ask what you will recommend because my face is very dry, dark and looks old I just want my face to be brigther and glowy. I suggest to do a review products about whitening for face and body 😁 And also I suggest about skin care about bad acne. My best friend had a very bad acne and she tried a lot products and had been too in dermatologist but won't work. She felt hurt in her face everytime her acne is growing. Like what you said I don't trust too in some dermatologist. Spread the truths about skin care so many fake products now are growing 😁🤗

I love your videos! you know so much about skincare!! ... But please these toothpastes are not good for your teeth!! This will wear away the enamel on people's teeth and over time they will have problems including sensitivity and also their teeth will actually look darker over time as the lighter coloured enamel layer is worn away and the darker dentine layer underneath will show through the teeth more making them appear darker!

As a skin care specialist I’m sure you advise people to not use charcoal on their face/in cleansers and so as a dental student I strongly recommend that you don’t use it on your teeth either! It can be extremely abrasive and wear away your enamel. Once it’s gone there’s no bringing it back. 😕

Would that apply to a charcoal toothbrush too? I just started using bamboo toothbrushes and it says there’s activated charcoal on the bristles😖 I’m nervous now

laazysusan unfortunately, yes. I would try and refrain from products with charcoal in them that are oral care related. Also, don’t be nervous! Swap out and replace that toothbrush with a new one as soon as you can, I just would advise not repurchasing it if you can’t get a new one at the moment (-:

Jewels .T any toothpaste with the active ingredient being potassium nitrate is what you want! colgate sensitive toothpaste and sensodyne are more of the common ones, although sensodyne is a bit more pricey than the colgate one! hope I helped :)

FACIAL HAIR help please! woman with considerable facial hair mo/chin/neck due to pcos. i get cystic acne huge lumps and stuff because i remove hair, now have to just trim it and i still get issues and pimples. the worst. hormonal acne/due to hair removal, video on this would be amazing

@@kaonashigurl4102 Yes I have tried laser, had a whole years worth of sessions with reputable big company but they realised at the end of it my dark hair still has blonde bulbs...so it didn't work! i saw no more than a 10% reduction i hair. so so sad

Hi Susan, I have a sunscreen question, I love my sunscreen and apply it every morning but I don’t understand how to reapply (which is what I hear everyone recommending to do for best results) when I’m wearing makeup. To be honest I barely wear any makeup (just some concealer and blush) but it always feels gross to apply sunscreen on top of that and it completely messes up my makeup and I don’t want to have to reapply the makeup and keep layering more and more stuff on my face. Do you have any advice on this? It seems like you wear makeup regularly so I would love to hear about how (or if) you reapply sunscreen throughout the day. Thanks, Erin 🙂

I totally agree about the Juno microfiber sponge!! I judged it because I was obsessed with the BB and then I found the Wet n Wild sponge which I feel it’s exactly the same/dupe for the BB and it’s only $5! But I then tried the Juno sponge and I’ve been obsessed ! I do love the Jouer Bronzers they are beautiful!! ❤️

Devon Albert I used to suffer from Rosacea so bad for years 😩 But I FINALLY healed it. Never had a better skin then now but it was really a process to find the right products for me. And believe me it also has something to do with your inner health (Stress, Unhappiness and so on). Hope yours will also be cured soon 🙌🏼

I'm 39. I have aging skin also dark spots. But....my face is always shiny, and looks oily but.. it feels dry. It always feels dry so I end up putting more moisturizer on. Sounds like you have oily skin type but your skin is dehydrated! This means your skin has enough oil but is lacking water. Try using a hyaluronic acid serum underneath a lightweight but hydrating moisturiser.

I have started using vitamin c in my morning routine and retinol in my night routine and my skin feels amazing. I've not had any adverse reactions at all. However, I have started having sore throat and watery eyes ever since. Every time I stop, it seems to go away and returns when I start using it again. Has anyone faced similar issues? They can be heavier and therefore can clog your pores, leading to acne. Look for products that say non-comedogenic.

I wouldn’t if you don’t need it. They tend to be thicker creams that aren’t necessary for your skin.

Anti aging products focusesmore on moisturizing since with age our skin produces less oil hence the wrinkles. But in 20s that's not the issue, light moisture will do it but if there is oily skin then we can have acne and on top it anti aging products it worsen as chances of clogged pores rise up. So products focusing more on anti acne is for 20s.

Use a good SPF! Freckles are genetic so you won’t be able to change them. As for the sensitive skin use vitamin E to protect the skin cells and their membrane, vitamin K to strengthen the blood vessels responsible for the redness ( if you have any) a good retinol product to boost cells regeneration, vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant and also gets involved in every process in the skin-cell breathing, cell feeding, cell regeneration etc. vitamin B will help you protect your skin from eventuality getting dermatitis. Try ionophoreses with camomile extract, calendula extract, algae extracts, go to a skin therapist, I won’t recommend to buy the device and do it yourself as I’m not sure you are aware of the polarity of the solution. Don’t use all of them at the same time because the skin will absorb the product it needs the most the rest of the products will simply be wasted. Good luck!

I am obsessed with the Nars Liquid blush in luster. I haven’t seen it on Sephora after I purchased it from Nordstrom so I didn’t think it was a new shade. I have also been wearing it on days I don’t wear any foundation, it’s just so natural and pretty. It looks beautiful across the nose and cheeks like a natural sun kissed flush!

Depends on your teeth. Some people’s teeth whiten easier than others. One person may see the same level of whitening from toothpaste while another needs to use bleaching.

The Praesto Susan used to love her Clarisonic so much she said she could not live without it. Since then however, she has leaned more toward chemical exfoliation as opposed to the physical (Clarisonic). I use both. I LOVE my Clarisonic and really truly believe it has helped my skin in such a positive manner. Hope this helps!

I recommend you try Avene Tolerance Extreme creams without preservatives instead of La roche posay, they don't have silicones and much more gentle than La roche.

Heather W-S yeah I was reading the reviews on Sephora after watching this and if you’re darker then it’ll leave you with a weird undertone that doesn’t match your skin color. Soo I’m staying clear of this

It's always good to keep in mind that when they're formulating products like this, they are almost never making sure it will work for Fitzpatrick V and VI. We generally have to find products formulated specifically for dark skin.

I just tried it on my husband’s hand (he’s Indian) and it was too light. First Aid Ultra Repair Tinted Moisturizer in Rich could be good (and very similar to the Waso). That color doesn’t work on really dark skin tones, but it makes for a good base in that case. They definitely need more range. I would try it next time you’re in Sephora or Ulta!

Hi Susan! What blue shampoo are you using? I’m a brunette as well with subtle highlights and purple shampoos are not color correcting properly for me!
