@MyMerryMessyGermanLife
@MyMerryMessyGermanLife Год назад
@@MelvinJ64that’s not how childhood abuse and trauma work. They literally change the neurons in the brain and stunt a person’s intellectual and emotional growth because they spend so much of their efforts working to survive. Childhood abuse and trauma are the entire reason for crime and suffering in the world. Try living your whole life with horrible PTSD, depression, anxiety and health problems from suffering as a child. These children start off way behind children who grow up in stable and loving families. They have to work much harder to get on their feet as adults and for some, the trauma and damage is too great for them to have the energy to get ahead and heal.
@MyMerryMessyGermanLife
@MyMerryMessyGermanLife Год назад
Another classic case of how childhood trauma and abuse affect a person in a terrible way. Julia was severely insecure and traumatized and that made her vulnerable. People who haven’t been shown real and healthy love easily get tricked into fake love and are often attracted to other insecure and traumatized people. She also sounds like she had ADHD - being constantly bored is a big symptom of ADHD. That, combined with anxiety, trauma and PTSD makes for a very messed up person. Fix child abuse and trauma and we will have a better world!! Problem is, it’s a big and complicated problem to fix.

I was shocked to discover that George, following his release from prison, was actually able to marry & have a family. Surely the fact that he had strangled to death, tried to set alight, decapitated & disposed of Julie's body, would have been enough to deter any sane woman from wanting to marry him - with the thought that he might also want to kill them one day as well! I also found it hard to understand why Julie would want to remain romantically involved with a man who had tried to strangle her own mother. Surely that alone would have been a very bad omen for any future romantic relationship with him.

Weird but true. Ted Bundy got married in prison and had a child. (I don't get how he got conjugal visits considering that he clearly had a big problem with women and killed them)...but at least Ted was in prison where he could be monitored to some extent. This wife of George must have liked those "bad boys", as did Julie. That's the only explanation that I can come up with. As far as trying to choke her mom--personally I would have run for the hills.

I recall browsing a dating app and one girl had filled out her interests section with "being pretty." That was it. And I thought it was the most honest one I had ever read lol. It seems like there are only a few universal offenses and one of them is being called "ugly." Being called "stupid" is another. An attack on one's autonomy and morality might be others, but I am not as confident about them. I'm not aware of any psychological theory that accounts for these as primal universal values.

It’s extremely short sighted to be focused on beauty ESPECIALLY for a woman. If a woman puts all her eggs in the beauty basket, you can assume she is stupid. That’s why it’s a bad trait. Now if she’s capitalizing on her good looks but planning on having value past about age 26 then she’s beautiful and smart and a keeper 😂
