In this episode of our short educational video series, 'Beavers', we explore the iconic beaver dam!
Beaver dams are strong, living structures, industriously made by weaving together wood with vegetation, stones and mud from the water bed.
Did you know that during periods of high rainfall, beavers can create notches in their dams to prevent them from breaking, and create overflow channels on either side of the dam which beavers can enlarge when needed.
We're delighted to have worked with ‪@wildintrigue‬ to produce these videos.
We envision this series being used widely for a variety of audiences across different host platforms from school lesson starters accompanying a lesson pack, community hall screenings and more. If you would like to host these videos or use them in your curriculum, please get in touch via info@beavertrust.org.

I'm enjoying this series but I think you are wrong to credit the beaver with "making notches in the dam" during storms. I'm pretty sure its the increased water pressure during a storm that makes the notches.

"that we are now sadly experience due to the climate crisis" There is no such thing as a climate crisis in 2024. Climates change naturally, and slowly over time.

climate.nasa.gov/vital-signs/global-temperature/?intent=121 Nope, its getting hotter for sure. It's probably all those heat-trapping gases in the atmosphere getting pumped out by power plants and the like. Keep burying your head in the sand to make your moronic political ideology work.

I rather trust scientists who have studied climate change for decades than a Fortnite RU-vidr.

@@p.nguyen8136 What I said wasn't even an opinion, that's what climates do. Also the alarmists have been wrong consistently with their predictions for about half a century at this point. Why do you blindly trust them?
