I love Beck. He is nuckin futs. He is an absolutely amazing musician that incorporates every style of music known to man in his music. Continually amazing me time after time. This man has pumped out tons of music in his time.
"Also, Beck's dancing reminds me a little bit of Mick Jagger." I was seriously hoping somebody else was going to bring this up. It's not just his dancing though. It's his whole presence in this video.
I saw this tour at Radio City Music Hall on Valentine's Day. The stage set was a huge, heart-shaped, rotating bed with red satin sheets on it. LOL. Beck got up on it and break-danced. Popped and locked and threw those sheets all over the stage.
I love the basist at 2:10 ! I remember in 1999 listening to this great track on repeat after repeat after repeat. How can a man be so innovative and always fresh as Beck? That's a mystery even to me.
It may just be that I'm a huge fan of anything funk, but Beck kills this track. It's such a grand representation of his amazingly creative sound, and easily one of his best songs. In my opinion it's an easy top 3 pick. Behind only "Where It's At" and "Loser".
I remember why I loved college student life now. I'm kind of depressed now....! Its not just my age, its something else. Anyone feel the same way about today's world? The early 90s-2000 was the happiest time of my life. I'm so glad Beck was there!
There was a feeling of freedom an optimism that's missing now.. it wasn't all nihilistic like today. There was less emphasis in the news on bad things, where now its bad all the time. There was also this new thing called the net and and anarchic spirit that's just missing from today
@@bigmouthstrikesagain4056 That's because we've seen the worst of humanity by this point in hd, some have seen worse than others. It's probably going to be even worse for Gen A since they've grown up with the internet since literally day one.
Today's pop stars can wear meat dresses, ride naked on wrecking balls and sing songs about S&M all they want, but Beck will always be the guy whose video featured a fridge making sweet love to an oven, and nothing can top that.
Really can't think of a better musician, composer, lyricists than Beck. The guy can be funky, funny, and poignant all in the same breath. And he's really inspired by the lack of sex laws in Hong Kong.
I was listening to this album at work last night and now it's bringing back memories of when it was released. My brother and I got it on cassette tape(neon green) 😅 and we played the shit out of it in his 1986 Toyota Camry. Riding around tripping fuckin balls on acid or shrooms. I wonder what the fuck we looked like from the outside. I just remember being in the backseat buggin to all the sounds. Good fuckin times indeed
Best track from Midnite Vultures. Weird but mesmerizing video. Beck should've won for Odelay, but I'm glad he won for Morning Phase. Congratulations Beck! :-)
Dude I remember them announcing the debut of this on MTV I was glued to the TV waiting for it. Video gave me chills lol I was freakin obsessed with Beck back in the day lol I was a mellow gold era listener. 😎
fernando perdomo Thank you so much, I was wondering who the hell that was and would've never figured it out if you hadn't of mentioned it. I came here with vague memories of Jack Black running around crazily and what caught my eye this time was that guy in a cape and the wrist band seals the deal.
There's something about nonsense that attracts people. Beck is definitely the Lewis Carroll of pop music, but his attitude transcends the farces of the past with his huge range of musical influences.
i just wanted to point out that at 0:53 that's not actually a live fridge dancing around. If you look carefully you can see the guys feet.... there's a man inside there. It's not actually a living, supernatural fridge. It's just a fake fridge with a guy inside. Just wanted to point that out.
Don't be so gullible. The "man inside" disguise has been fooling weak minded people for decades. I bet you actually believe that there was actually a small human inside R2-D2...
