@garrettstump yes, 8 oz which is basically as thick as most places would have in stock. It also roughly corresponds to 1/8" thick.

@bus142cm I don't remember exactly but Tandy only sold two screw in type sizes, I picked the smaller of the two.

@RatifiedCow when I bought mine they had scraps you could go through but they didn't have much there. Otherwise you had to buy a full side.

@dracona70 i appreciate you replying in such a timely manner. this sheath build is great, im going to change it up a little bit but the best part is im going to only have like 10 bucks into it since my aunt works in a leather factory and my inlaws have all the tools and nick nacks. i just say 10 bucks for now incase i need it for something but this will probably be free.......thanks for the visual of this build!

what do you mean by number 8 leather? is that ounces, im asking because i am going to attempt this and i just want to make sure i get the correct size thickness of leather.

Hello sir do you still make sheaths? Would you make a custom sheath and sell it on eBay? I'm looking for one I went to hedgehog leather works and even skystormleatherworks but hedgehog will not make a sheath and the is bit pricey. And skystormleatherworks will not take custom orders. Please message me if you can help me out.
