Becky Holmes: Exposing online romance fraud whilst living with ME 

Thank you for addressing the broader phenomenon of "blame the victim" mentality. I noticed this after getting ill (and being blamed for my illness) that there is a tendency to blame others for whatever hardship it is they're facing, whether it be in relationships, health or finance. I suppose it's a way of distancing themselves from an uncomfortable situation, making themselves feel less vulnerable, and not wanting to expend any compassion energy on another.

I just read the WaPo review this morning and was already excited for the book. I didn't know Becky Holmes also has M.E. Congratulations, Becky. Watching the interview right now. xo

Loved this so much! 💜I also find pacing to be super hard. I don't tend to have enough fuel to do much but still it takes so much work and feels very unintuitive (?) to pace and adequately rest when I have an appointment. I'd also love to do more "power resting" (while minimizing sensory info as much as possible) in case it might help me be able to write a bit more but find that unless I have an audio book playing it can be very hard to relax/rest... Really interesting connection--the kind of isolation and feeling of "nowhere to go" that can happen with both chronic illness/ME and being a victim of the relationship fraud. And ooph online cruelty. 💔 (It's wild that some people think that is a meaningful way to spend their tiny blip of time on this earth.) Thanks Dan and Becky!!!
