I could have sworn I read somewhere that a gambling value over 100 actually hurts your chances to win. Not sure what the actual calculation is

In 2 it might be pretty good once you start cashing in looted weapons. Gambling works too. Also make sure you try to find the truck encounter. It'll help you with a decent chunk.

You love these games like I love goldeneye 64, turok 1 and 2 and many more. I've gotten the chance to play some old classics and the nostalgia is there. Wish they would remake fallout 1 and 2 but watching your videos has shown the influence and similarities that they have played.

Quick math on the caravan jobs wasn’t quite right. 10 mins for a 600 cap reward would only get you 3600 and hour, not 6000. Fun project!

Before i even finished the video, i'm thinking...gambling skill 120 and hold 1 and 4 at a card table for about an hour and you'll have a million caps.

Imagine trying to do this before the main quest timer was extended.

in Fallout New Vegas i've become a millionaire in the vanilla (un-modded) game + DLC several times. i dont know if there is a more efficient method than what i do, but i have fun doing it my way! basically i max out Repair and learn the Jury-Rigging perk at the earliest point i can. then i continuously kill weak enemies and HOARD their weak starter-level weapons. 9mm pistols, single shotguns, varmint rifles, and ESPECIALLY pool cues, etc. i repair them to full condition either manually, or when i start to build caps i go to Major Knight at Mojave Outpost and pay him to max-repair my cheap, weak starter weapons en-masse once you start collecting better and better weapons from enemies, you can use the dirt cheap stuff to insta-full-repair a more advanced weapon of the same vague type, then you sell the more advanced weapon at a vendor for profit. by max-level with i basically develop a system of visiting the high-level DLC areas for better enemies with the best weapon drops as well as literally farming the "assassination attempts" against my character because they drop valuable guns too! at this point start killing respawnable NCR troopers for their Service-Rifles as well (sneak-attacking with suppressor if you want to avoid a bad NCR rep) they're more expensive to repair, but are used to jury-rig many higher-end guns as well. also their medium-armor NCR gear can be used to fully fix more valuable Combat Armor + variants. and also start hunting Jackals, Vipers, etc for Metal Armor which can be used to repair Power armor taken from BOS Knights and Paladins, very lucrative but also VERY heavy compared to weapons i use varmint-rifles to instantly fully-repair anti-material rifles, brush guns, etc. Service-rifles to repair Marksman Carbines, LMG's and 12.7mm SMG's, Pool cues can repair any 2-hand melee, including a SUPER SLEDGE, to max health and they cost 10 caps to repair each at Major Knight or the Sink in OWB. 9mm pistols can be used for everything from 12.7mm pistols to 10mm SMG to 44.magnum, basically ANY 1 handed ballistic weapon. best places to sell are basically... everywhere. i use the Sink a lot for repairs because you can get your money for repairing back by selling stuff right there but you'll eventually run out of you'rre repairing and selling big-ticket items. but especially i use the Commissary Terminals in the LR DLC because their caps instantly refresh when you clean them out and they have decent stuff to acquire in trade as well (US army Combat Armor and Riot Gear sells for decent money when fully repaired with cheaper NCR/Marked Men armor). also the Gun Runner shack and 188 merchant keep good cap supplies too sleep until enemies respawn and repeat again and again until millionaire lol. again may not be efficient, but i have fun finding new and inventive ways to kill enemies while profiting off their gear in between actually doing quests and progressing lol!

Gambling isn't broken in F2 so yeah, that will definitely be an interesting video.

I came very close to being a millionaire in New Vegas once. Granted, I had used a lot of quest mods (which was also why I kept the playthrough going for so long). I got most of it from selling weapons, and had done very little to no gambling with this particular character. And for reference on how long I played this character, the in-game start date is sometime in October 2281. By the time my HDD died, forcing me to terminate the playthrough, I was at September 2282 - almost one in-game year had passed.

When I played FO1 and FO2, the easiest way is to max out Gambling skills as much as possible. The moment you can gamble with more wins than loses, all you have to do is just find two objects to hold down two keys at the gambling table, go have lunch and maybe do some other house chores, come back and you're probably the richest individual in the entire wasteland.

Sometimes I like to just use the barter exploit and become ubberrich. Haven't gotten a mill though

I remember just putting unlimited supplies in my companions by pickpocketing them and selling everything I could.

I gotta say playing a fallout NV play through with 10 luck has been a blast, literally haven’t enjoyed a fallout the same in a long time!

If you ever do a millionare video in New Vegas, completing the Dead Money DLC makes it pretty easy especially with high luck and gambling.

I usually make my character has 1 luck, but I make her a thief. I don't think the luck changes too much. So my character can't win at gambling, but I can pickpocket anyone right at the first town and I get guns, ammo, and pretty much anything I need from the start. And later I don't have to worry about the ammo for my high-end shotguns and rifles, because I can steal from city guards. It's my tactics for Fallout 1 and 2. :)

Best way to farm xp in first two Fallout games is to pickpocket/reverse pickpocket items. Save scum is pretty much a necessity, but you really only need 5 or 6 items for max xp gains and 1 npc to use the strategy.

I always played the scavenger basically and rarely bought anything just used what i found, so i never really used caps often. Dunno why i always played like this because i do the same on all the FO games now that i think about it.

ok NV have the "string/integer" cheat, but I miss the ability to stay in the casino, not wanting to scam them like in the originals, but they could have added some reset timer (like a month) ps: fallout 2 could be grinded on random ecounters with restoration installed.

The closest I've ever been to a millionaire in Fallout is in New Vegas. But by the time I accumulated 500000 caps, the money has become meaningless to me. Sure I can buy out all the unique Gun Runners weapons, but they are things I'd never use to complete the game. The best weapons I used in the game were all free. (A Light Shining in Darkness, Christine's COS Sniper Rifle, All American, etc) There was no real elation to seeing a chunk of caps dropping in my lap, and there was no real, meaningful things I could buy with my wealth either. I wonder if people felt like this in real life? 🤔

Fallout 2 would be far too easy with a gambling build. Soon as you hit new reno, you basically just hold the 1 key down while you play blackjack. You'll be a millionaire in approx 10 mins.
