I've been monitoring RU-vid for many years looking for channels that don't have unnecessary stuff and most of the videos are actually useful. Tactics, prepping, bushcraft, military channels, of all the channels I know yours is at least one of the three best. Each new video is better than the previous one. Keep it up guys! greetings from Ukraine

51:10 to 53:28 - A wise man once told me that I should never feel guilty about the time spent away from my family while earning a living to provide for them. To me this also meant I needed to clearly define what my “work” is, and to cherish any and all time I spend with them. Edit: added end time, for full context

I have a good amount of medical training under my belt through various fields, including wildland and leo. The main skills I have used have been holding C-Spine, applying a TQ and giving chest compressions. Example for chest compressions... Being closer than EMS for an unresponsive or even showing up to help lift and you end up jumping in rotation for compressions. Learn the basics to be prepared.

Me, an FMF corpsman with who spent almost 8 years on Camp Lejeune, first starting at the ER on base and then going with the infantry guys, having all kinds of experience…but nothing to show for…. It’s almost a similar experience to this guy. He says it’s gotten better, but it’s only gotten a literal hair better. And now that I’m out (2020) I’m in that struggling phase of trying to figure out what to do. I decided to no longer pursue medical due to some experiences working in the ER at such a young age. It took a lot out of me, but I was damn good at what I did which makes it hard. Time to time I consider doing it again but my heart isn’t there anymore still. I tried to be a school guardian in Florida but was not hired unfortunately after some issues with the sheriff office trying to obtain some records from my service and health history. I hope any other corpsman out there struggling, sees this video and my comment and knows that the experiences are not out of the norm for people like us. Just keep going like I have been…and hopefully, something along the way, sparks a new fire in you. It’s been 3 years so far for me, but I’m still learning a lot about myself in the process.

@@Beefry222no worries man, things get lost easily in the comments sometimes lol. Only a little has changed for me. I’ve finally managed to land a part time job not to long ago. It’s sort of a needs based position so it isn’t consistent but it’s nice to be able to do something that has been a lot of fun while learning something new. While it’s not exactly ideal, as I’d prefer something full time and fulfilling while full time, it’s absolutely great what I’m doing now when I can do it. Hoping to stick around for it long enough to see if a position opens up for full time that I may be able to apply for. The position I have itself is not available but I think under the company I’m working for it’s possible I can land into something else if I show up and perform when they ask. I still really do wish I could’ve been a school guardian. I really do. But, I also see it as maybe life has other plans for me. Maybe even that plan being to slow down a little and enjoy it a little more. Who knows 🤷🏽‍♂️

Former US Paratrooper/medic turned paramedic for nearly 26 years. The ice thing is real. What's worse, in the hood, we saw civ throw milk on PCP and or opioid ODs. Civs be yelling, HE NEED SOME MILK! while ole PCP boy is punching busses and trying to pull up concrete. Lol

Just like a college diploma, all your military training truly means nothing, because everyone has it. More people need to be looking to go into the trades. Yes you're going to work harder, in weather, shitty long hours, but you dont end up with that massive college debt, which negates what you make, and if your assertive, be making $30+/hr in 5-6 years. Life after military was hard. But I went the trades route and make a better living than those guys who went to college for those 4-6 years.
