Okay I didn't expect for him to literally speak exactly the same as the videos he narrates. That's pretty awesome.

I’m glad we finally have a sample of the casual voice of Steve Taylor (of kurzgesagt), though, I’m sad that we didn’t get to see his face. But at least we have a general idea of what he looks like, and based on the avatar illustration I see I’m clued in to a nice looking strawberry blonde guy, probably in his late 30’s early 40’s, and has a very masculine shaped head and pretty mild 5 o’clock shadow, all just my speculation of course, he could just be a little red bird for all we know.

Great interview. I couldn't imagine anyone but Mr. Taylor being the English-language voice of Kurzgesagt, but I do also enjoy the Spanish- and German-language versions of the videos. The cartoon representation of him was a cute touch, and in that style of drawing, it's the spitting image of him. :-)

this guy is like the narrator from the stanley parable. you cant imagine the stanley parable without that voice of kevan brighting, and you cant imagine kurzgesagt without the voice of steve taylor

I love Steve Taylor’s voice. He is one-third of the reason I watch Kurzgesagt videos. The other two-thirds are the animation and the educational information. It’s surprising to know that such a crucial element of the entire Kurzgesagt channel isn’t even part of the core team! I hope he never stops lending his voice to the channel.

It is so fascinating to watch this video. Since I only know the voice of the narrator from all those Kurzgesagt videos, listening to him here now feels like you are having an interview with a full sentient AI, rather than a real person.

Steve truly has a one-in-a-million voice! I follow Kurzgesagt from early on and his voice is just right to bring the message perfectly. Also, I never have difficulties to understand him or stay focused (I have ADHD and am very easily distracted). The right man for the right job! 👌🙏🙂

Hearing him thinking of something and stalling while speaking is strangely satisfying to hear

It is kind of strange. When watching Kurzgesagt, you always imagine the Kurzgesagt. Like it is just one person that is entertaining and educating us. The mastermind behind everything. But the voice, the script, the animations, the storyboard, the reasearch.... everything is done by dozens of people. Kurzgesagt kind of feels like a hive mind :D Like one entity but there are actually a lot of people.

Steve Taylor is the only man who could rival Morgan Freeman as God, especially after The Egg by Andy Weir video. I could totally see him as a disembodied voice whose form is beyond our understanding.

I don't think I would watch the channel so much if it wasn't for his voice, despite the beautiful animations. If I die and hear Steve Taylor's voice, I know it's going to be okay.

I love the times when the calmness of his voice juxtaposes some of the borderline existentially scary/horrifying stuff that can happen in Kurzgesagt videos. Like when they're talking able things that can wipe out the planet or horrible diseases that you can get. It's funny lmao, especially when they bring that light sarcasm/deadpan/dark humour into the mix. One of my favourite examples of this: "It's like burning down the forest to kill the wolves inside it - a really bad idea in the brain 🙃"

I think Steve's voice is instrumental to Kurzgesagt. Equal part of the delivery as the animators and documentation work. Respect to Steve and Kurzgesagt all the same.
