After D-day the Allies landed with a shortage of fuel tankers. The Germans abandoned theirs while retreating - most were on an Opel Blitz chassis and only needed a distributor rotor arm to put back into service. One made for a Bedford, Chevy or GMC fit and worked perfectly, and the Allies carried a spare in every truck. No more tanker shortage!
