It’s a tough one Mike for a couple reasons. First one is that if this was a sluice box then I definitely agree. However when using a fluid bed classifier like the green mountain gold trap you need a good amount of flow volume to push material at a good feed rate. With that said though, I usually do run the gold trap a little on the hotter side so I am probably losing a little gold. I do this because I’d rather run more material for the day and lose a little gold rather then running material slower and waiting for it to clear out and the result being less material run for the day. You make a valid point though. I’m capturing most of the gold from about 50 mesh to larger size and even at this flow rate I do still find some fly poops. It’s a balancing act for sure.
