We are doing a Bedroom Rip Out in The Old Station, getting the upstairs rooms ready for when building work can start. The bedroom won't look like this when the renovation is done.
Suggestion - The cupboards you removed, I would put them back together for use in the largest section of the out building. The largest section out building could be a work shop area, a place to work on trim, molding, windows, etc. The cupboards could hold supplies and tools and the counter, a good surface to work on. The wood seems like hard sturdy wood.
I do have to admire the way the previous owners designed where the doors go by using the angles of the beams to dictate their shape and size and to add small windows for light. Brilliant!
Hopefully you can repurpose some of that wood if it's decent. So many MDF around that's no good at all. Oh, but what a color combo: orange, pink, yellow and black. Wow. (Our second bedroom was bright Kelly green with dark red carpet. )
Just subscribed, looks like this place could be a real stunner. The garden is awesome but will be a chore to get under control. Looking forward to following along.
Hi there folks! Ive really enjoyed watching your proje😢ct progress, so well done. Im well past the time of my life years ago, (I'm 77Years old!) But would love to have done this in my younger life. Ive always had a keen interest interest in anytghing anbout railways and restoring buildings, so would you tell me where your station is, what railway built tthe line and in what country is it located? Keep the fab work and best wishes for your future. Regards. Ken Browne PS: we also have 5 yyear old Beagle callef Mack, who is a real character and a bit of a nutter!
Hi Ken, thanks for the comment, I’m glad you’re enjoying the videos. The station is in Wenvoe, just west of Cardiff. The line was put down by the Barry Railway Company to transport coal from the valleys to Barry docks. It was then part of GWR until it closed in 1962. I believe the station closed before the line but I don’t know exactly. Take care and give Mack a pat for us 😊 🐶
As others have said, I hope you do repurpose all the old timber, once it's in a nice nest pile you will find a use for it, happy renovations, best rdgards from a Kiwi living in Australia
Hello from south Wales 🏴 👋! I imagine quite a lot of timber will be coming out so hopefully can be reused. We’ve also got piles of sleepers which I’m having a good think about use wise.
@@theoldstationrenovation Sleepers have so many uses in the garden, from retaining walls to raised beds. Treat them to some eco paint and they'll last you decades. 😊
I really like what you are doing and the potential is amazing, I really look forward to following on. It’s so important to keep our old UK heritage… But… please lose that awful continuous music, I have been putting the vids on with subtitles instead. Some period sounds for the location, or era, the train sound was cute. Sorry.
