Hearing that he is considering selling his music saddens me. I guess it shouldn't but somehow I feel that as long as Barry is alive and he owns the music the Bee Gees will always live on. He fought to get their earlier songs back and keep everything since then. Now I think he has gone too far the other way. As long as he is alive I think the songs should belong to the people who wrote them, and their heirs.
As Barry said, he doesn't want his kids to have that burden. I'm sure he knows a heck of a lot more about the music industry & selling a catalog than their kids ever would, & doesn't want them to be taken advantage of later. And he prob knows what it's worth more than the kids ever will.🎼

I'm sure Barry knows what he's doing as he fought Stigwood years ago to get the rights to their music back. The past couple years many have taken that same step....Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, Stevie Nicks, Lindsey Buckingham, Neil Young, Justin Bieber, Katy Perry....to name a few.🎼

He could sell limited use rights to Sony or UMG, under a conservatorship by, and with limited royalties paid to, a British museum. He would get slightly less than selling outright to one of the big two. But, would guarantee adherence to the terms and conditions after his death.
Maybe sell to a trusted source with his kids having some control/say/ management. I believe his kids know the value of his music. Barry, just be wise what you do because you have a large family. Protect them without burdening them.

Elvis Presley canto y robo canciones de los negros, le decían el blanco que canta como los negros, nunca compuso una canción, ni tocaba un instrumento musical, los Bee Gees comenzaron cantando canciones de los Beatles ,y algún que otro cantante, pero los tres hermanos componian todo lo que cantaban, los tres,no solo Barry, Robin con con menos de 20 años compuso Comencé una broma, y Massachussets,grabaron el long play ODESSA con Lampligh de Robin y 1 de octubre de Barry, eran muy jóvenes, lo que hicieron en esa época es notable, son temas que nunca se olvidan, y los temas de Fiebre de Sábado a la noche los tenían hechos antes de hacer la película, el representante de ellos produjo la película y les pregunto si tenían temas para incorporarlos, pues algunos ya estaban hechos por los tres hermanos. Ka película tuvo mucho éxito y vendieron millones de discos, pero no don producto de la música disco, ya existía y ellos ya eran famosos fines de los sesenta y setenta, yo los conocía de cuando eran jovencitos, no recibieron educación musical y tocaban muchos instrumentos de oído, desde niños, sus padres eran músicos, compusieron canciones excelentes, a mi los temas disco no me gustan, si lo que hicieron antes y después de esa película. Además compusieron para muchos artistas.
