@@valie2254Robin wasn’t involved. It was actually a nice break from the drama and showed how well Barry and Maurice sound and work together. It also gave Maurice more time to shine. Robin chose to not be involved. He thought he was too good for them. Nor does Robin need to be involved in everything.

@@TWariner Robin left the band because a fight had started with Barry about the choice of First of May and Lamplight as first single from the album Odessa. Stigwood had favoured Fist of May on the A face then Lamplight as B one. Robin thought Stigwood always favoured Barry. Then Robin and Barry had always been in rivalry and competition from their childhood. Barry always been the favourite, he even talked about it in interviews and recognised it was unfair for Robin and Maurice... Robin never thought he was better than his brothers but tried to exist by himself because of this rivalry with Barry... Nevertheless in 1970, the 3 brothers recognised they were successful all together as the Bee Gees but not as single artist. I'm a huge Bee Gees fan, always gotten informed about their life and their different personalities. I listen to their interviews, not spreading fake news by giving my own opinion. I want to respect the real facts according to what they said themselves.

@@valie2254 I’m a huge fan, and know the whole story. But the fact remains Robin wouldn’t have left if he hadn’t have had a big ego, and could handle that Barry got all the attention. Barry got all the attention because he was ridiculously handsome. Blue Weaver said that ALL the boys were jealous of him because of it (including himself, Robin, etc.). Stigwood was smart and recognized a success-making frontman when he saw him. Barry had the goods: looks, charisma, stage presence, leadership, and talent. He could just stand there and girls would scream at him, according to people. Barry and Stigwood also seemed to have an affinity for each other, which is probably one of the reasons Stigwood wanted to work with them in the first place. Robin left because he was jealous of Barry. Barry even admitted it in an interviewer when the interviewer suggested it. Barry may have had an ego, too, but he had the upper hand, so it wasn’t the same. Robin wanted to be the sole lead singer, and frontman; he was happy when he felt he was. It’s what his great ambition and ego demanded. But Barry was in the way. Barry was always in the way. How do you solve a problem like Barry? But Robin soon found out that it was more fun with his brothers (who went on to write great songs and do fun things like Cucumber Castle, and didn’t die because they were deprived of the “great” Robin). Robin had to reel in his ego, accept his place, or never get as far as he wanted to in life. And for a while Robin did seem happy to be in his place, after their reconciliation. Maurice, on the other hand, didn’t have the problem of too big of an ego, so he never left Barry, and Barry and Maurice worked well together. I have a soft spot for Maurice because he COULD get along with Barry, didn’t let any ambition or feelings of jealousy overpower him. Which, to me, makes him a true friend to Barry.

I think Robin is represented by the dying King , who left the Kingdom ( the band) for them....

It’s sad, of course, that Robin couldn’t be a prince for a while...
