There were so many sides to the Bee Gees. I'd love to see your reaction to Closer Than Close with Maurice singing lead (which is rare), and Heart Like Mine with Robin singing lead. Both are a departure from the sound most people associate with the Bee Gees, but both are exceptional. Love your reactions, Angela.

She’s actually not…there have been many others that have actually gotten the truly message about the song. It was what youth call it “ A bootie call” I believe. It’s about someone TRULY loving someone, but they didn’t feel the same. And, he sings about how’s he’s truly heart broken. The song is beautiful and I just feel that it needs the kiddos it deserves.

Had a great romance going once ( I thought ) and after a while bought flowers for a special night. ( I thought ) . She called late to say she couldn’t make it. I may have said this before, but I would love it if you would react to some early Bee Gees from the late 60's when Robin Gibb, and sometime Maurice were the lead singer. One of my favorites is "I Started A Joke" which Robin primarily wrote and was lead singer on when he was 17-18 years old. It was from 1968 and one of their first top 10 hits. You will love it.

All 3 wrote I started a Joke and it was Barry and Robin that used to share the lead, not Maurice. It was pretty much either one or the other or sharing by the two.

@@TheBrownlj I know all three are credited as writers on most of their songs, however, I was referring to an interview I saw, where Barry said that Robin had written 95% of I Started a Joke when he brought it to them. I was as stating that Robin was the lead singer on that song, and many others like "Massachusetts", and that Maurice ALSO sang the lead on other songs like "On Time", "Lay It on Me", "Closer Than Close", and his last song "Man in the Middle".

@@jerickson725 sigh a few songs yes but a very few, Barry and Robin were the ones that sang lead 98% of the time. Also with I Started a Joke or any of their songs someone came to the table with the idea and they would write it together. The one with the original idea usually sang lead, which would mean Barry would of written 90% of the songs according to you. I stated a joke was instigated by Robin but they all wrote it.
