It's an emotional song for me, too. I couldn't listen to this song for over a year after my wife died. She passed away from a sudden stroke two years ago in June. We were married for almost 23 years, and I'll never get over her, and she can never be replaced. Barry Gibb, the lead singer of The Bee Gees, has been married to his wife, Linda Gray, since 1970. 54 years.

Gen X here. All I can say is that not caring so much what peers think is as important as ever. It's not easy but gets easier with age. Value yourself enough to have a relationship that will treat your value with respect and dignity. And showing emotions isn't weak it's human and real.

I don't have daughters, I have two sons, I've brought them up to respect women, I am 67. So they are old school gallant. I can't tell you how many women have walked all over them because of how sweet they are. It goes two ways, they have to treat men well as well. I grew up with this song I’m 63 and I can’t tell you how many times rollerskating skating couples to the song and you’re right it is a very emotional song. It’s sad that three of his brothers have passed away but their music their legacy will live forever.
I was 8 years old when this song first aired on TV in 1978. My cousin, who was 20 at the time, she started crying and said this song so beautiful! The 70's are chalked full of some of the greatest love songs ever written. Enjoy!

All time! Delve more into the BeeGees and others! The real music of the 60s, 70s, 80s needs to be played all the time, along with other harmonius songs you can sing to, good church music too, throw out the trash called "music" since!!!!
I travel to be with my beautiful partner I travel 20 mins to be with her, now she move to Windsor 45 mins and now by 31/2 hrs drive or by train 4 to 5 hrs I am happy in love so to be with her you have to follow yr heart ❤ no guy will do this always truefull to her, there are words which I touched her heart and cry with happiness a great feeling inside ❤❤.

A romantic heart ❤ keeps you from becoming cynical of life & gives to charity till love finds you face to face with graceful love. Your face when they started singing was just brilliant. You were really shocked and rightly so. The Bee Gees are primarily songwriters with over 1000 credits for 100's of top artists. They don't get the recognition in the USA that they deserve and you need to check out their back catalogue.

I'm 73 and I grew up on the BeeGee. They were the absolute best. You don't find music like them these days. I wish I had a chance to see them in concert. But that won't happen now because Barry is the only brother alive. But you won't find better band. Try listening to more songs of them you will love them.

I think this is the most perfect love song ever written. I also like to think that Barry (middle singer and oldest brother) is singing this to his wife, Linda. They have now been married for 54 years and have 5 children and multiple grandchildren. If you see pictures of them now, they look as much in love as they did when they got married. Sometimes I cry when I listen to this song because it brings up memories of lost love. Also, the Bee Gees donated all of the royalties to this song, written in 1977, to UNICEF to help children of the world. The write all of their own music from melody, lyrics, orchestration to recording and performing it. They have also written songs for Diana Ross, Michael Jackson, Dionne Warwick, Celine Dione, Barbra Streisand, Kenny Rogers, etc, A truly talented group of brothers who have been singing and performing together since they were kids. That is why they harmonize so amazingly.
