@@richduperbash2966 I notice that you aren't running a tower to tower brace. I'm trying to decide whether to re-install mine in my kraton 6s having just installed a load of upgrades. Ian angled it for maximum liftoff with enough outwards distance to cover a large gap jump at full throttle 👀. Forgot my MT41O front bulkhead had a crack and it gave out and pulled away from the top plate. I'll get her back out pronto. @@goin4brokerc I would recommend the standard M2C chassis. I haven't bash tested the Speed chassis without using a T to T brace like I'm still running on my Lightened O6s with Basherqueen parts. There's a real possibility you'll bend the Speed chassis if you have a big send go wrong. 🍻

@@richduperbash2966 It's just that I like to run my Outcast 1/8 so much. But every 20/25 packs or so I (have to) inspect the whole drivetrain which is quite some work. Especially the input/crown gear is a weak point even though I shimmed 'in- and outside'. Bigger/stronger gears and bearings would be on my wish list. I have bought a EXB diff for the next time it breaks. Let's hope that it will fix one the issues.

They're sticking with the stock 6s length outdrives for now. We experimented with lots of lengths for the now released 8s rigs.

Mitch's newest machines truly opened the steel upgrade floodgates 😍. I've never tried running an ARRMA gear on the Hobbystar motors before. That's certainly possible the pinion is slightly off. The safe-D shape has to be the right tolerance to fit the motor shaft. Appreciate the kind words and hopes with the fires Bro 🤗. Hey Brother 👊. Voltage and M2C are the ultimate braces 💪. Both are superbly designed and made from top shelf 7075 T6 aircraft grade aluminum. Next would be HR for good design but softer 6061. Last would be EXB. This is from my first hand personal experience. All good braces have a bolt through design with M4 nut on top. The Talion is the exception. It has a closed design due to the chassis layout. 🍻😎💪👊👊

Hey Brother 👊. I generally recommend 50/200/20k front to rear. With the regular V4-V5 diffs, I swap out the planetary shims for wider Mugen Seiki E0209 shims. I also typically add atleast 1 Tekno #1222 bearing shim to the crown gear side bearing (that's in addition to the stock ARRMA bearing shim). I've only ran 6s with the RTR diffs for years. Gear health, in large part, comes down to throttle control and driving habits. Avoid running huge heavy wheels, landing jumps on throttle, and self-righting or Crazy standing backflips. To each their own, but gears don't like being mashed together violently with brutal stops under power. EXB gears are a bit stronger, but the same principles apply.. I don't have a strong preference either way. 😎💪👊👊

You can run without the tower to tower brace, but the front and rear chassis brace hardware undergo a lot more stress without it. It's best to run it or a Basherqueen carbon fiber one. The latest EXB RTR has a slightly different chassis. M2C will have to make a new one to accommodate the newer style stock EXB rear chassis brace. 🍻

Doing well Brother 😜. I noticed my new 1730 got quite toasty too 👀. More so than I recall with my Hexfly Hex6 setup in my beefcake V3. Not questioning a shift in the quality, but an 18T might be safer with full size wheels and warmer outside temps 🤔. A Gamechanger fan set-up is another possibility. 😎💪👊👊

Ordered fans hopefully they will keep the motor temp under control... If not I'll go for 18t as suggested. Meanwhile ill just give the motor some cooling time in between runs. Thanks again :)

Hey David. I'm running 50/200/20k front to rear in my K6s EXB. Earplugs are way too much for the 6s rigs in my opinion. They work well in the center differential on the 8s Kraton and Outcast. TEKJO gaskets are the best I've found 👍

Thankyou for replying, so in other words they have made the arms too long or shafts too short. I've only had it happen once and found that setting my droop a little more aggressively seemed to stop it for now. I just seems to be a problematic issue all over you tube. AJ swears by rpm arms, problem being no droop screw adjustment on rpm arms. I believe that older more warped arms worsen the issue as they degrade. hopefully Arrma will do something to rectify this issue without removing the red end caps as I really didn't want to resort to that. what do you think about the 6s kraton rpm arms?

@@saransmith8773 ARRMA did shorten the arm length, however some older arms are probably still floating around. RPM 6s arms are excellent 💪. Been running them for years. Still the last arms to break even next to the thicker EXB arms. Their nylon can flex when it counts. 🍻

Let me link you to my buddy John and Ian's videos. The trick is using a short screw to support the bottom of the fan motor and then another one above it in the fan housing to limit the physical distance the fan can move upwards. That removes the jackhammer effect the fan normally endures with harsh hits and keeps the fan blades from snagging the housing vents. 👍

You could go either way. A properly upgraded RTR will be far stronger than an EXB. M2C 7075 T6 is superior by material and design. There's nothing wrong with running stock RTR either and upgrading as you go. I would say aluminum chassis supports and an RPM rear skid plate are a good start though. 🍻

@@richduperbash2966 thanks, I’ve been reading on some forums that the diffs,rings/pinions are better on the exb that is probably the only reason why I’d go for the EXB, but not sure if that’s worth it? Probably better like you said. BLX, upgrade as I go. I just want to bash it up out of the box as is, so we’ll see how long that lasts. Your videos are awesome and made me want to get a Kraton. My last RC was a Tamiya Big Wig back in the mid 80’s, so I’m sure I’ll be blown away either way🍻

@@pizzomedia7261 I raced the Tamiya class in the 80's as a young teen 😍. You will be blown away 😱. The brushless motors are absolutely ridiculous. So much speed and power. Very easy to run out of space and hit solid objects 😂. Little secret. I'm now running all RTR diffs in my EXB. I shim them and they hold up great. Nothing against LSD diffs, but I don't absolutely need them. I use Mugen Seiki E0206 planetary shims in place of the smaller stock ones and add 2 to 3 Tekno #1222 bearing shims to the crown/ring gear side bearing front and rear. That's it. 🤗

My nieces and nephews are getting into it and inspired me to dive back in. I first called the hobby shop a few weeks ago asking if they had a Tamiya Frog kit, that was the car I always wanted. Then the guy proceeded to update on all the RC advancements in the past 30+ yrs 😂

@@richduperbash2966 I have the beefcake axels center and all 4 corners of my 8s outcast build but haven’t tested the rig yet do to gearing issues. Everyone is saying the Vitavon ones are the way to go but I guess I’ll wait and see. Does M2C warranty them by chance?

@@RC_Berserker yes indeed. M2C offers a 50% replacement warranty for damaged parts if I'm not mistaken. I can't speak for Vitavon shafts. Haven't tried them personally. The parts I've tried have worked well though 👍

No I haven't Raymond. Only on my Infraction and other street based builds. I would never recommend it for a basher. Too much strain on the front and rear input gears. 😎💪👊👊

@@raymondwilson9662 you could run lighter center fluid to keep the front end down, but it'll transfer power to the fronts and cause some ballooning. If you have the LSD center diff, try the open diff shim kit with like 100k or lighter. Getting rid of the LSD plates will help you achieve a more planted ride.

150F is perfect for a max temp 👍. That feels hot to the hand, but still plenty safe for the motor. 150 is what I shoot for for maximum performance and efficiency. 170-180+ is entering the danger zone where gearing down or running smaller wheels is a good idea to avoid damaging the motor. I got there this run. May gear down, but this is the biggest area I bash at and all my rigs run hotter at this spot. 😎💪👊👊

I clean the pinion grub and gear threads with 70% isopropyl alcohol first and use liberal amount of blue 242 Loctite. 🍻😎💪👊👊

@@richduperbash2966 Hey Rich, I checked out the motor mount and the ends of the motor no missing screws or loose fasteners. I'm doing the repeat clean and blue 242. I found a gravel pit near by and was sending it. Couple bad landings and a brutal lawn dart. The M2C upgrades made it a tank, so no problems just the dam pinion fell off, luckily the mesh held so no gear damages, I changed the motor mount to M4 18mm socket head screws like you do to your rigs, haven't had the mesh loosen since i changed it. It's also possible chassis flex is pushing the rear upwards enough to hit the rear endbell and torque the pinion against the spur (angle it) with really hard landings 🤔. That usually leaves a scratch in the chassis under the rear endbell. Regardless, the pinion shouldn't be breaking free. Hope you get it sorted Brother 🍻

I run Power HD 23kg servos in my 6s rigs. They're cheap with nice specs and very durable. 🍻😎💪👊👊

I mostly use the old Tactic TTX 300 that use to come with the ARRMA's out of the box. They're simple and ergonomic with great range and responsiveness. That particular spot has a dead zone 😂. It's the only place I ever lose signal. 😎💪👊👊

@@richduperbash2966 Hey buddy well I decided I needed more headache and learning lessons for me and smacked my Kraton into a brick mailbox. Well needless to say the mailbox won the game of chicken. Now I have more issues on hand now though. My question is I broke the screw holes off on the front gearbox case. So I was wondering should I just stick with the stock bulkheads or should I upgrade to some metal version i.e. Hot Racing ones? I am not sure if the hot racing ones would have been better in my application or if I would have broke them still. Just curious if I should just stick with stock or 3rd party.

@@DonnieKluck hey Brother 🤗. There's no guarantee an aluminum gearbox would've gone unscathed with a solid object like that, but I absolutely LOVE the Hot Racing ones. They simply don't strip out or crack like the stockers and effectively protect the gears and diffs better 👍. I've been slowly upgrading all my basher's to them through the years. Only bent one front, but that was because my Tbone bumper had busted off and I tagged a concrete structure head on directly on the diff case. The truck still ran with zero gear damage. Didn't notice until later it was slightly bent. The short answer is yes.... aluminum bulkheads are a very worthy upgrade. They don't give or wear down like traditional plastic ones. 🍻😎💪👊👊

@@richduperbash2966 thanks for the information buddy it was all good. I think it would have been a 50/50 crap shoot if an aluminum one would have held up any better like you said. Do you think there are any other better ones out there (not sure if anyone else makes one at all)? Also what do you think about the stock steering blocks/knuckles compared to aluminum steering blocks/knuckles? Do you think it is worth upgrading those or sticking to the stock ones?

The Truggified Typhon is my personal favorite 😍. Just like the challenge of trying to control her. The Kraton is probably the best all around basher. 🍻
