Thanks for touring the place! Flamingos are indeed used in several places to fill aviaries, and I use many animals to replace others (bonobos are gibbons, mandrils are baboons, gharials are nile crocodiles and more), the primates on the other hand are an exception. The zoo has two primate houses that both have gorillas and chimpanzees. In real life, the zoo got a large number of chimpanzees to home in 2006 when it became illegal to test on them in labs, and again a year later. For the gorillas, they started with a bachelor group of 4 brothers (in the green building) and later also got a breeding group. Also in regards to some habitats being small, the real life zoo is 1.5 km long, while the planet zoo map is only 1 km, so I had tot scale everything down! All signs are made by myself, because I'm replicating the zoo's signs to the best of my ability (it's hard to keep them small AND flat). The zoo is pretty maze like haha, before I started the recreation I always got lost as well. Doing 2-3 laps around the place before having seen all the animals., now I know it like the back of my hand of course haha. I think that just about answers all the questions you had in the video, if anyone has any more questions feel free to comment! Again, huge thanks Rudi! edit: oh yeah, the aardvarks are indeed meerkats, the warthhogs are red river hogs, who are normally also accompanied by banned mongoose
"OH its a Tiger! Look at it!" Is such a zoo sentence. These recreation zoos really make you feel like ur in a zoo in a way that a lot of builds miss out on.
Another great presentation Rudi, these community showcases are really enjoyable, thank you. Just Goron this is some amazing work, your skill level is so evident in what you have made here so far, you should be really proud :)
I live in the Netherlands and love going to zoos, I went here sooo many times with my dad, I know the parc :) I was like no no no you're going the wrong way! And then later these are the meerkats (aardvarks) and then some of the flamingos are actually pelicans and stuff like that, but man, Goron did a fantastic job so far!
I was there last year. The fence at 20:18 is broken (or was, maybe they fixed it already). And the baboons, those cheeky little basterds kept going to the other habitat. Never crossing the river, staying hidden in the bushes on the banks, as if they knew they weren't supposed to be there. Also, that rock was heavily used. Loved it :)
Eeehhh your dutch is better then most dutch... Very well done! Oh and the zoo is way bigger! Like JustGoron said. It is scalled down. It is an amazing zoo where you can spend a whole day getting lost! I have visited a lot of zoo's. Every Zoo in NL and BE. Now looking into Germany. But Corona got me stuck in my house :(
Wow the zoo is amazing I have been there once and when watching I remembered some things from when I was there you showed it really good hope to see more zoo tours. 😊
@25:00 that was actually a really nice ‘poging’ (try), ofcourse you can hear the German accent.. but still, i could understand it, even if i wouldn’t read the sign myself!
As I a kid I went to this zoo a lot. And I always got confused when I saw the same animals like chimps, gorillas, lions, hyenas and zebras in multiple exhibits. But I think they do it, to add the feel that you’re on an actual safari, where you also see the same animals multiple times.
That crocodile thing where you put money in is actualy for children, they can get in there and take a photo with their head in the crocs mouth. And where the aardvarks are is indeed the meercat habitat. And it looks like that for all the bird habitats he used peafowls.
Hey all! So I've never owned a PC before but hoping to get one for Christmas. As a kid growing up with the OG Zoo Tycoon (*cough cough* which had aquatic animals, Frontier), I love playing Planet Zoo. Right now, I'm playing it on my 13 inch 2019 MacBook pro through steam and NVIDIA GeForce, so I've got like a negative frame rate and can't take it anymore. I need a better computer for work, anyways, but have never owned my own PC or a gaming PC for that matter. Was hoping y'all would have some recommendations that won't break the bank while still being an all around great computer. Thanks!
In Beerse Bergen there are two groops of gorillas, one with females and one male and one group with only males so that’s why there are two groups of gorillas in this zoo I think.
