They use hex head screws now for the handlebar clamp. The problem I’ve had with that is that the adjustment for the sweep of the handlebars only works if you mount it on the left bar. I had to mod mine to fit it on the right bar.
The only problem I've found is the minuscule size of the roundabout exit number, I have to lift my visor to see it as the pinlock just knocks it out of focus.
Thanks for the informative review. Quick question : Once I've prepared my route and "uploaded it", will the Beeline work if my phone is off? (or gods forbid I left the phone at home) Or does it require a constant connection to the phone and its app ?
I've navigated with a compass for decades. Navigating with a compass, without a map is a nightmare! "Should I take this road to the right? " Not if it is a dead end or doesn't connect to another road to your destination. Not much point of a Sat Nav when you know where you are going".
You have to try it; it does work well. On the bike you’ll be using street signs, and it is also counting down distance so you have the freedom of your own ride, but not straying too far.
That compass mode is near useless. If you keep turning down random roads based on the compass setting, then you will never get there. The reason? Roads will start off heading in the correct direction but then change and end up in the opposite direction. In addition, the road may ultimately dead end. What about one way streets? Many reasons why compass mode is a bad choice.
Compass mode is to give you a general idea you’re on track. While in compass you will still need to street signs. If you want proper directions then you switch it over to turn by turn.
Thomas Childs you can read it at night there is a backlight. You can also plan all your routes in advance and save them so you’ll be all set for your tour. When planing a route if you want to change it pick up an anchor point (looks like a magnifying glass) and move it until it re-routes on the road you want. I think you can also import routes if you ever do that. Hope you have a great ride! Going anywhere good?
@@yodomcat probably done with big rides for the year, but this would've been really handy weekend before last round mid Wales. Do you know if you can charge it from a USB power bank?
My confusion is, do you need to program a destination into it for all your rides? What if you are just jolly-popping around...does it just show your direction of travel like a normal compass? North.South.East.West?
I had a question on your factory reset xbox video. If i did that and played on another xbox would I lose all the saved data that was on the last xbox one or will i still keep it.
please request this feature to Beeline: it would be useful to have a second kind of view point that gives you a signal on the Beeline device when you are approaching it. let's say I create a route from point A to point B, and on the route I add viewpoint 1 and viewpoint 2. viewpoint 1 is there because I want the route to go through a particolar street but I don't need to be warned when I'm there, and viewpoint 2 is set at particular place, where I want to be warned on the Beeline device when I'm there (maybe cos I want to meet a friend there, or make a stop, or whatever). it should be possible to change the kind of viewpoint by tapping on it, and give it a different color, to distinguish this new kind from the original one. since we don't see a map, a warning on the Beeline device could be very useful to know when we reached a certain place.
I'm thinking of getting into motorcycle food deliveries. If the Beeline can't take me to the destination, I'll just park on the side of the road and enjoy a beaten up burger just for the fun of it :)
This is pure false advertisement. The device doesn’t even work under extreme weather conditions, is not IP67 at all, even if they say so, just don’t believe them. I got mine just 2 months ago, I ended up using it 5 times. On my last long ride, I had rain all the way back home, 4 hours straight, and it stopped working. It’s a really expensive toy, is not reliable, is really fragile, you should treat it like a little piece of delicate porcelain. Don’t recommended it at all. Now I have to look for a smart watch, that does have more features and does more than this delicate expensive toy. 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻 Please stop promoting it as a IP67 device, cause is not. Is such a delicate expensive toy.
I used mine in the wet a few times and not had an issue; it was shielded somewhat by the cockpit so maybe not getting as wet as yours could? Sorry to hear yours didn’t stand up to the weather and good point to take note of. 👍🏻
