Thanks for the review! I could not noticing the MFH tires came from paints, models & more from Calgary! Are you located in Canada. I am on the east coast in NB.

Exellent review, very comprehensive 👍 I built the tamiya mp4/6 in 2021 and the FW14b i should finish this weekend with the Top studio detail sets. If Top studio did the same for this kit i would be all over it. I love the car, the colour and the era. I just think an oob build wouldnt have enough to keep me interested. I have looked at the MFH kits but my "fettling"days were over the day i left school and started earnimg and could afford the japenese kits instead of the Airfix and revell i was used to lol. I asked TS were they doing the same with the ferrari as they did with the mp4/6 and FW14b and the reply was "thats our intention, please be patient" so i'm glad i didnt build the kit way back then.

Each to their own for sure, a TS detail set would be nice for this, the BeeMax detail set is good value as well.

I@@motorsportinscale2291it is curious that there is a Top studio logo on the little "tool set" box though. I'm a sucker for 1/12 F1 cars, so i will probably pick this and the detail set up at some point. I have done build threads of the mp4/6 and FW14b on the ISM forum if your interested.

Thank you very much for the review! I'm a bit disappointed by this kit (the detail up set is really good though). The price-quality ratio is quite unbalanced - too expensive for quite poor stuff.

Hi, actually it's also not convincing to me..... I found it very toy-like but I think that with the detail set you can improve a lot the final result. I live in Italy and the problem is that I cannot find this kit detail !!! Do you know where I can buy now? Thank you very much

The problem is I looked to try buying the tires from mfh hero but they do not make them anymore? Unless you know something that some of us don't know maybe drop us a line or let us know where we can get these aftermarket tires because I definitely would be very interested so if anybody knows please let me know thank you
@motorsportinscale2291
@motorsportinscale2291 11 месяцев назад
Yeah, they can be hard to find for sure! Suggest you let your local MFH dealer know you want some, and they can order for the next time MFH does a run of them.
@charliesmorykin38
@charliesmorykin38 10 месяцев назад
@@motorsportinscale2291 thank you for getting back to me I will try that, but I do know the ones that I come across online they are so expensive that they actually want more for tires for a model than what they get for a real vehicle thank you so much for your information and bonding to my question greatly appreciate that and hopefully they will remanufacture the tires
@motorsportinscale2291
@motorsportinscale2291 10 месяцев назад
@@charliesmorykin38 For sure, you need to balance the cost/benefit value. Keep in mind, the kit tires are not terrible, the fronts seem a bit undersized but otherwise good detail. Maybe I will do a comparison of the kit tires from Tamiya, Meng and Beemax to the MFH so people can make an informed decision!

I believe Tamiya was developing this after the Williams, but it got too expensive and never released. This sure looks like a Tamiya kit doesn't it, even the packaging.

I'm just know that brand today, heard that it's from macau!! Then i would guess that their production and the mold may be located in china in fact. Anyway their classical series 70's car model are my favourite!!

Nice kit not a lot of parts not a lot of detail it’s expensive on eBay this kits about 250 bucks plus shipping which is like another 34 so it’s kind of expensive but if you want big kit this is one of them out there

A couple of things...only Lotus used the RA166E in 1987. Williams had exclusive use of the RA167E for 1987. In 1988, as part of Piquet going to Lotus from Williams, Lotus got the same engine as McLaren, the RA168E. The RA168E used in the MP4/4 and Lotus 100T was a complete brand new engine, and shared absolutely nothing with the RA166E and the RA167E. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_RA16_engine Otherwise....great review. I just got the shipping notice on mine from HobbySearch and I can't wait to get my hands on it.

Thanks for the insight, do you know if the coil wiring covers being missing is accurate for this year?
@BullittStang
@BullittStang 11 месяцев назад
@@motorsportinscale2291 Yes. The coil covers didn't come into use until some time in 1988.
