Unless mistaken, I believe it's RU-vid that inserts ads and not the orchestra. (Again, and in my experience, there are lower chances of ads coming up if you're active, i.e. if your keyboard or your mouse are periodically in action, rather than if you're watching with your hands off the laptop/PC.)

I've "discovered" Beethoven more extensively at this late point in my life, and it seems to me that he was the genuine pioneer of 19th-century music, really paving the way for Schubert, Schumann and Brahms. And Orozco-Estrada, Norrington and other modern conductors have found out how to brush the cobwebs away from this genial musician and his music. It is a pleasure to hear (and see) them at work.

In my opinion, Beethoven's second movement, 16:00 - 31:24, gives us an insight into his joy in playing and deep emotionality. At 23:30 starts pure euphoria for me.

@ralfhudlet702 It makes me so happy when I find other people who delight in the same moments as I do! You might enjoy Celibidache's recording of the "pure euphoria" part. It's considerably slower, albeit all the more powerful in my opinion. It completely melts you. Here it is for reference: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-WaEbCw6ucSU.html (starts at 8:35)

I love this orchestra and conductor! I loved how they all moved in sync at the height of grief @ 25:25. Could never get into watching Karajan for that reason; everyone still and in perfect formation. Our musicians must emote!!!
@lisahinton9682
@lisahinton9682 Год назад
@Katrina T. I find the swaying and wiggling about to be a silly affectation. "Our musicians must emote"? Absurd. They are there to play the piece accurately and beautifully, not jiggle about in their chairs like bored children in a church sermon. Highly distracting, frankly. This is the last I will watch this group. Definitely have had enough, as gorgeous as they sound. The wiggly-jiggly silliness is just too absurd for my tastes.

Andres brought up so many layers among the instruments that was not that obvious from other recordings. Indeed, Beethoven's complicated thoughts are more evident in this rendition. In a simple word, 'fire' is the essence of Beethoven's music. Andres took it to another level. Well done!!

@Alex Tejada I had been listening to Beethoven since I was 15. I have many CD collections of Beethoven 9 symphonies as an audiophile. This would tell you if I am that easily impressed by any music.If you don't understand, how can you make a cause and effect relationship? Please check your intention when you comment on Asian. Beethoven understood humanity and would bring all races together in his music rather than isolating once race against another.

I love this symphony. As a Beethoven lover, it’s in my top 3 Beethoven symphonies along with the ninth and fifth symphonies. As a pianist, I find it harder to play the piano transcription of this symphony than that of his fifth symphony. And as a composer, this is the piece that inspired me to compose symphonies. My first symphony that has been planned for several years now and is now being composed has a lot of inspiration from this symphony, from the general narrative of a hero battling against an enemy and coming out victorious to the presence of a funeral movement to the start of the introduction with fortissimo chords alternating with a bit of quiet melody. That said, one of the biggest differences is the time signature of the first movement. Beethoven uses a 3/4 time signature with hemiola passages that feel like 2/4. I just straight up use a 2/4 time signature and the first theme at least will definitely be a march.
