@@Hklfilmsofficial Think about what was the cheaper option. Thats what they did. As much as i wanted it to be good, it looks bland and less original. Seems more like its in it for the money. Sometimes, its ok to try new original things. Sometimes, its ok to try to revitalize old things. | But one must always know when to do which and fully commit.
This looks awesome. Michael Keaton is back as beetlejuice, baby! He brought back Batman for the flash which was the only good thing about the movie and now beetlejuice has returned. The man’s still got it.
Keaton is great!!! I was probably about 10 when the original came out and for years and years, I had no idea that Beetlejuice and Batman were the same actor!
This was the first movie, the first thing I went to do, while on unsupervised liberty after graduating Navy boot camp in Orlando Florida (in the beginning of June 1988). It holds a special place in my heart because of that. Please, Hollywood, don't screw this movie up.
@@grimmjaw02 he propositioned a fifteen year old to pose nude for photos... which was no more scandalous than teen magazines back in the day. honestly, you should go back and look at how racy teen, even tween magazines were or just ads in general. his bigger crime was not being in the fashion industry, not being a director, not being more famous or coming from a wealthy family and being ugly as sin. he pleaded no contest and was put on a registry. he still managed to work, though. As to whether or not Whoopi would defend him is another question. but no, it was because no one wanted to do it.... except the studio. They wanted to take it down to the bad camp route and focus more on the titular character in a rather hammy way (such as the script of going to hawaii, jumping the shark, parodying old sitcoms quite literary.. a combo of happy days and brady brunch, with the same plot rehashed.). . . cheapen the story line. This one is much better than the plans the studio had but most people will find the story to be contrived... mostly as in all these reboots of older franchises, they have a difficulty writing youth well.. without turning them into mary sues or marty stus... likable characters. the production values are high but in prior decades, it would have been a direct to video release. we'll find out how much of a cash crab this one is three months after opening.... when they announce yet another sequel. It's going to have huge numbers because of the first film but that shouldn't be counted towards it's ability to stand as a film. It's likely to lose something without the Maitlands, which contrary to the antics of the title character, were the true focus of the film. . . there's little interest to be had without them or a new surrogate to represent them. And Lydia coming back without any significant changes or character growth is quite depressing, no? Apparently, they didn't have much of an impact on her life. It also doesn't help that Ortega has quite a few problems in the public spotlight and behind the scenes... she's still quite young for an actress and not as mature as her talent is.
Because reboots and shit are always terrible. Like this will be. It's far too HD for a start. Part of the charm of the original was the time it was filmed and the effects
Going to be off the chart amazing, im sure the younger generation wont appreciate it but I sure as hell will. Loved the original so much that Keaton is one of my favourite actors.
@@bizybee8192 Original? LMFAO, do you know how many scenes were in this pathetic trailer that aren't original? Using stale old material from THE original is NEVER a good sign for a movie sequel, your other commentors are right, this is probably gonna suck.
I love Lydia's face, when he asks about if his scary look, is a figment of the man's imagination. Even though she can't scream, the look of pure terror is still seen in her reaction.
@@spyder2k2 Yup. The only thing that seemed off was the plane. I couldn't tell if it was CGI or practical effects. If it was CGI, it looked a little off so I'm hoping it was practical effects or it'll look better in full. Other than that, I love that they're going back to practical effects!
You know in the animated version, Beetlejuice & Lydia were best friends. You know they could've used that concept like for this movie, Beetlejuice's son becomes bfs with Lydia's daughter, but they're parents are against it.
Yes I don't think Beetlejuice will be the main enemy in this one since that was all played out in the original. They all know him now so needs a new plot. I'll definitely be seeing this but it's worrying Burton hasn't made a good film in over 20 years.
I'm stoked! I'm hyped! I'm ready! I'm so excited for this! This looks pretty promising! I still stand by that even if the movie sucks, seeing Michael back as Betelguise is going to be enough of a good time for me! Him and Wynona Ryder and Catherine O'Hara too! Also looking forward to Jenna Ortega in this and Justin Theroux!
They probably crossed over. Remember the only reason they decided to stay was to help with Lydia, and with Lydia gone living her life why stick around?
Michael Keaton, William Dafoe, and my crush I haven't seen since early 2000s (matrix) Monica Belluci. As a bonus they got rid of the pedo actor playing that dad and gave him a funeral instead. I see no reason why the studio shouldn't have my $15
One of my favorite characters of all time! I'm so happy there were no attempts to recreate it or do a sequel without Keaton. He's brilliant in this role. It's great to see everyone else come back as well! I can't freaking wait to see it!
@@JB-wy8fc I didn’t see Wednesday. But unfortunately you’re right. I just looked up that he didn’t write this one, just directed it. The writers are the same people from Wednesday. 😔
I hat newer movies with a diehard passion especially when they remake old movies from my childhood but this one is an actual sequel and if freaking looks amazing for once.
