On the issue that more is just more and not necessarily better? "Xanadu" (1980) is a great example. All the elements that would be great on their own, but put together, it's like the margarita that sends you into a diabetic coma. Something so strong about the movie here is the casting! Sometimes it's just fun to see familiar faces. Love Keaton, Ryder, and OHara! Ortega is growing on me too. Not every film has to be Oscar-worthy, but we do want it to be worth our time. Sounds perfect for in-home viewing.

What I tell everyone, it's not a great movie, but it's a FUN movie.

I had to rewatch because I was distracted during the premiere. Great review, very funny and insightful. Not too many verbal morality code violations, which is important to me.

Yes likes 1st. Tim Burton Look and Feel. Danny Elfman Score, Keaton all awesome! About 20-30 mins into the movie I was thinking I would have rather watched this home. About 55 min mark I told Mit C I was bored. She told me I could go out the arcade so she could finish the movie so I thought she like it. Afterwards as we were walking out, but not out to of the theater she turns to me and said that was stupid. Not exaggerating here. I did not laugh once during the whole movie.
