If it is permanent why is it necessary to continue to use it for maintenance every 4-6 weeks. I'm def going to try it but it does make me curious.

@@natmya243 I think it takes a couple doses to repair fully. Plus, most people continue to damage their hair (heat products, color, etc.) I'm not expert, though; just guessing.

You’ll see how good K18 is! It says to use it up to 4-6 times depending on the damage of the hair but after that you’ll see the true results!

Yes k18 is a permanent treatment and does not wash out like other bond builders/treatments so as long as u take care of your hair from here on out say bye to damage!

I would use a slightly more alkaline shampoo to open up the cuticles when doing k18 as it needs open cuticles to penetrate easily so only when doing k18 i would use a clarifying alkaline shampoo (acidic shampoos prevents the cuticle to open but the good thing about acidic shampoos is that keeps that cuticle sealed and helps at preventing friction damage)

Hey Jaycie! From my understanding, K18 works by getting into the hair layers that are not sealed (ie. unconditioned hair). Most cowashes gently cleanse the hair in the same way, so I'm not sure if it would work the same way. I'd recommend sending the company a DM to check! (k18hair.com.au/)

I personally would use regular shampoo. Once the treatment course is over you can go back to your regularly used CG routine and products. You could still style the CG way and use a leave in.

I have been using a clarifying shampoo and have had amazing results.

You'll get better results with a slightly alkaline clarifying shampoo to open up the cuticles so k18 can penetrate easily, after 5 mins apply a leave in conditioner to seal the cuticle and style as usual. Don't be afraid of using an alkaline shampoo when using k18, is for the greater good lol. The good thing about co-washings and using very gentle surfactants are that the cuticle is mostly sealed and covered (assuming that most hair care products you are using are slightly acidic to prevent unnecessary opening of the cuticles) so you can stretch the days you use k18 maybe every month when you clarify your hair. (Be aware of co-washing as those moisturizing agents tend to build-up and the surfactants aren't strong enough to remove all the build-up)

I don't believe there's any harm in using both but it may be unnesscary as they are both repairing in a similair way- you'd be better off alternating the use of each ie. use K18 every 6th wash, and use Olaplex No. 3 between!

Hi Niki- use the K18 instead of conditioner 4-6 times consecutively. After those 4-6 washes, go back to using normal conditioner and use the K18 every 6th wash. Hope that helps!

You don't need to use heat with K18 at all, it just needs to be left in the hair for four minutes before any other styling (or no styling) for it to work! And yep, roots to ends! Hope that helped!

@@KristyJoan soooo I finally received my K18. And I can say is WOW!!! I was a bit skeptical but honestly, I am sooo impressed. Never has my hair been so soft and frizz free. After the first use, I noticed a difference. My hair dried naturally and it still had a bit of frizz, but not like it usually is. The second time I used it, I used a hair dryer and styled it after 4 mins and wow... my hair was soft and smooth and frizz free. I always need to go over it with an iron to get rid of the frizz but this time there was no need. And I just used it for the 3rd time and allowed my hair to dry naturally and honestly, there is noooo frizz. And my natural curls look so healthy and defined. And the shine is amazinb. This just keeps getting better and better. I am super excited I found this product and I guarantee results to anyone who is skeptical like I was. 👍

I have used the Matrix Detangler & it is wonderful for hydration. K18 is just repair so would recommend to use the detanlger in between K18 uses so you get benefits of both!

@@siouxsiewild6296 I have. I’m on week 4 (4th wash) I think my hair is beyond repair. It does make it feel healthier the day of washing and a day after but then it goes back to feeling brittle till I wash again.

@@Adrianlupita67 i found this too, my hair sounds like yours (white blonde from dark brown) and i used this for 6 weeks and don’t really notice a difference. I messaged them to troubleshoot and they told me I’m “using too much” and it’s weighting my hair down, doubt that’s true

I felt it didn't weigh my hair down at all so I think it wouldn't weigh curls down at all- unless you used too much of it. You can definitely still layer it with your normal curl products too after the four minute waiting time!

Same type hair here and yes you need to be careful to only use a small amount. First time I used it I used too much and it was like I had gel in my hair it had a coating on it. I used the smallest amount the next time and it was much better.

I’ve found olaplex 6 - the leave in treatment is a game changer when it comes to fighting frizz!

After the initial 6 uses, K18 recommends to use every 3-4 wash!

I personally wouldn't as its classed as a protein which won't react well with extensions.

Heya! K18 is not classified as a protein treatment so it is safe to use on extensions as it's repairing keratin peptides!

Kerastase Extentioniste Mask & Davroe MCT are both excellent treatments for fine hair but are still nourishing and reparing!

Heya! Most permanent straightening products contain formaldehyde, but repair products usually don't- K18 doesn't contain it!
