Love this and how GENTLY you handle the hair. So many salons rake combs through my hair and yank foils out without first opening them...I leave with a lot of breakage. Wish every salon owner would give a briefing to stylists to watch you and learn.
This is why my husband cuts my hair. I've never had a stylist who was gentle and knew to brush it out doing sections toward the ends, moving up only after tangles are gone.
As a root shadow color on that gold banding I usually would add a natural/violet toner (natural being the predominant amount) to deepen the shade…..as the N shade has gold/brown in already.
I looooooove to watch your applications! It's very soothing for the brain to watch! Thank you for making these videos, they're so educational for me to be a better hairdresser who also works with the Schwarzkopf range. Lots of love from The Netherlands
@@BobbyHairStudio Well I used KIS before (Was okay, nothing special) and Fanola (really like the fanola bleach btw), and after that I started using the SKP BlondMe range! It gives me a secure feeling that it contains a bond builder. At first the swelling was really bad and it caused some bleeding (especially when I hightlighted myself lol), but now I mix it very slowly and I always add some olaplex. Since then it's way better to control and doesn't swell as much as it used to (and I also think my application just increased a lot:P)! I like that fact that it is so strong that I can lighten level 6 tot a 9 with only 10 vol and hair never feels really damaged or extremely dry. But I'm also very curious about the Vario bleach, I've never used it before. And, I just looooveee the Igora vibrance toners! The colours are very trustworthy and mixing them up is just an amazing creative game for me :D Gonna touch up the balayage from my best friend this friday and I can't wait to use your hightlighting techniques!
I'm a hairdresser & that orange band always happens to my hair if toner is left in more than a few minutes! Other stylists are confused with my hair every time because they don't expect lifting to occur on 'no-lift demis'. My natural always lifts near roots with a demi
In the future she needs to use a leave in conditioner with thermal protection before heat styling. K18 doesn’t offer heat protection and it says this on their website. I use a leave in conditioner for more moisture that also has thermal protection. K18 and Olaplex are very different products and repair different bonds. The hair is gonna dry out over time from not using any conditioner and also because K18 has wheat protein in it.
@@starlite556 Yes new brand is called Epres. Wow I didn’t know Olaplex quality had gone downhill. That really sucks. I heard about the Olaplex lawsuit.
Curious to know... when you wash the hair after some days (without using the K18 again) , how does the hair feel ? In other words, does the nice smooth feeling of the 1st application lasts?
Hi there! I find that the mask has lasting affects and I can still feel how smooth and soft my hair is after a couple of washes. I only apply the mask once every four washes anyways. My client has also messaged me and she let me know that she feels the same way and the mask feels great
The root bumps up with the level of developer that you used, even 7 and 10 vol will pop those roots. I use a zero volume to avoid that at the root. Try it next time. It works great.
May I ask did you use Demi for everything you used also I’m inbetween trying to decide what color brand to go with. I was thinking redken but I’m not so sure for a few different reasons also I searched this video because I’m a big olaplex person but kept hearing of k18 and was trying to see if it’s as good. Also what do you do if the client wants solid blonde to the root and you get bands they’ll just have to be ok with blending as you did? Is there a rule of thumb with how many levels to put on root to make it look blended
I love your work and all details ! My favorite hair channel ! But for this video I wish you could specify more clearly what product such the spray and then the mask and more details how to to … we don’t have that exact kit with all explained step by step , I found the products that you can buy individual but not the box with everything.. thank you 🙏
@@BobbyHairStudio have used it in combo with olaplex? Olaplex does help most lighteners not swell up as bad but do like k18 on it own 2 but I rather use both cause it make hair come out stronger after lightening.
Heard you say you have only been doing hair for 7years...... yet you have the expertise of many more than years. Where did you go to train ? Bc your excellect at your job
OMG I changed hair salons because after a balayage at the old one my scalp hurt for a week from the teasing and violent detangling and damage though the colour was nice. I left it for about a year and then went to someone else on impulse for a full head of highlights. They didn’t bleach highlights all the way to the top so it looked grown out before it was even a day old. I asked if they can tone it and they said that they don’t really do that and using purple shampoo is fine. But I guess bleach is bleach so my hair is super damaged and like it’s manageable if I use Redken allsoft shampoo and conditioner because i can get a wet brush through it in like under half an hour but like I tried the purple shampoo (which I bought from them) and it was just matted tangles of death. Aaargh I just don’t know who to go to next but now it’s growing out and I don’t really want to always have this heavily damaged hair so I wonder if I can get a “root smudge”(?) to make it look like balayage so that it can just grow out. Like if my hair isn’t bleached then I can wash and detangle it in like 15min and its so easy. But so mousy…..
Why do you weave and slice all the hair? Dont you get the same resoult with slices only? I am in love with the outcome 🥰 (Sorry If I write something wrong I am a german hairdresser) 😅
I’m not 100% sure why this happens but I have a theory: Her natural hair has tons of orange underneath so the fumes of the lightener could push that extra centimetre past where we add lightener and it could just bump her base, revealing her natural colour ?
@@BobbyHairStudio it could be your toner budging her natural color. i've experienced this before as well, and i noticed it after i toned my guest. the only way i saw a difference with this particular guest was by dropping her toner from a 10vol to a 5vol
@@BobbyHairStudio I think that line of gold is possibly that your bleach saturation level close to the root is not enough. I think you're taking the bleach and saturating and then feathering it up as close to the root as possible. I know this may sound weird, but the saturation level close up to the root still needs to be enough for the bleach to do its job properly. If you're scared of making bleed lines, then don't take it up as high, but where you finish the bleach still needs good saturation in order to process correctly. Hope this makes some sense.
@@NicquiMadden I’ve experimented with both options before though. It doesn’t matter with some hair types, the orange line still happens wether or not I’m saturating all the way to the top because it pushes further towards the root and that’s why I think it’s the fumes just bumping the base of that hair to reveal the U.P. I’ve tried it so many ways but with this hair type it just does that so it comes down to root shadows
K18 has RUINED my hair. Like exactly opposite of what it did in this video. I used way less product than you do and it made my hair so brittle and dry after the first use. It felt so much healthier before using this and I’m so disappointed bc I believed it was going to work like all the videos say
Do you have any pictures of this hair? I want to show it to my stylist to show her what I want to get. I couldn't find any on your instagram or the salons instagram. Thank you!
I brought from amazon 1 bottle of k18 it was fine so I brought 2 more off the same seller they were both fake when you rub the k18 in your palms it should go white both bottle's did not go white they also looked different from my first k18 bottle they did not have a stamped mark they went straight in the bin
K18 didn't work on dry damage hair at all. This product dries them up and they became frizzy after the recommended 6 uses. After I use Phyto Paris products (a lot less expensive that K18 for a lot more product), my hair became shiny. I'm sure glad I bought K18 at Sephora as I got my money back. Thanks Sephora for my 100.$. This product is not cheap mind you. Over-enthusiastic followers hyped it up but it doesn't deserve it in my very humble opinion.
K18 works in a specific way so you probably did something wrong during applications. You were either experiencing buildup of silicones or product so the peptide couldn’t enter the hair or you were putting too much k18 in your hair. With k18 less is more so you don’t need much per use i find if you use too much it makes the hair dry and dull. If you use it correctly it works heavenly
@@nickprince9119 Do you work for them? I see you counter acting any negative comment on multiple videos. Same as people who swear by Olaplex and yet there are multiple people who have suffered severe hair loss from using Olaplex. Some things just don't work for some people. It does contain alcohol which is very drying to hair.
@@natmya243 LMFAO 😂 no I do not work for any brand. I buy it with my own money. You can think what you want but it works for everyone. If it isn’t working you’re clearly doing some type of thing wrong because EVERY person I’ve done it on says it works. And every person I’ve heard that has done it correctly says it works.
@@nickprince9119 It's great it works for so many people. I've seen a lot of people who say it doesn't work for them, including hair stylists - I guess they are wrong too though? I'm glad it worked for you.
