@@RogerWakefield I was super uninterested in learning electrical code and school. Hated working for an hourly wage. I gravitated towards roofing because it's much easier to start a roofing company, no school required, profitable, everyone needs a new roof every 20 years on average, you don't even have to pull permits. Electrical is much more strict on code, permits, school. How often does someone pay for a new electrical system? Almost never. Storms bring you roofing work, not much electrical. Even if they don't, they still wear out. Insurance pays for roofing, rarely electrical.
If your personal finances are not in order, don’t even think about it. That would include all debts, credit cards, student loans, vehicles, etc. Expenses below income, setting aside money each paycheck. Plus an emergency fund. Once that is in order then you can think about starting a business with your savings.
