My friends and I went on a spontaneous road trip to the Grand Canyon for Halloween 2011. When we went there and stopped at a random spot to do some sight seeing. We heard some instruments being tuned so we decided to investigate.
What we stumbled upon was probably one of the coolest things I've ever seen thus far. An intimate miniset by The Barr Brothers.
The Barr Brothers are true musicians. They connected with their instruments and their environment. At one point the drummer picked up a branch and used it in the song while shaking the bells tied around his leg to the beat. The lead vocalist not only played guitar, but he also used THREAD (yes sewing thread) to make it unique. In addition he played harmonica! And if that wasnt awesome enough, they brought a mini piano and HARP to the ledge of the Grand Canyon!! Honestly at one point I thought she was going to fall off. It was bizarre to believe this actually happened.
Its definitely going down as one of the most memorable things in my life.
