A plead to any parent out there, please check on your kids. Don't force your wants on them, let them be them and for heaven's sake, please just love your child unconditionally
"And all the crying you wouldn't understand, you would just let him cry, make a man out of him." Man those lines always get's to me. He always gone to Melchoir with his issues and he never really knew how to help. Just knowing that Mortz's would take him own life re watching the musical later those lines really do not a lot harder. This is one of my favorite songs fro the musical.
I wish the audience didn't scream and cry over their final song. Call me a curmudgeon, but every last performance deserves its respect. A time and place for that would be curtain call or an encore. Love their singing and acting too but Id still like to enjoy the last of the performance.
I saw them the first Saturday in May (8pm show) before they left. It was an honor to see both of them, not to mention many of the Tony nominated cast. I've seen a few version of this show (Broadway, Touring Equity, non-equity touring) Groff brought something truly unique and deep to the role of Melchior!
Those You've Known Those you've known and lost still walk behind you All alone, they linger till they find you Without them, the world grows dark around you And nothing is the same until you know that they have found you Those you've pained may carry that still with them All the same, they whisper "all forgiven" Still your heart says their shadows bring the starlight And everything you've ever been is still there in the dark night Though you know you've left them far behind/And the northern wind blows You walk on by yourself and not with them/The sorrows, your heart goes Still you know they fill your heart and mind/There are those who still know When you say there's a way through this/They're still home, we're still home Those you've known and lost still walk behind you All alone, their song still seems to find you They call you, as if you knew their longing They whistle through the lonely wind, the long blue shadows falling All alone, but still I hear their yearning Through the dark, the moon alone there burning The stars, too, they tell of spring returning And summer with another wind that no one yet has known Though you know there's so much more to find Another dream, another love you'll hold Still you know to trust your own true mind And on your way, I'm not alone They call me, through all things Night's falling, but somehow on I go You watch me, just watch me I'm calling, through longing The northern wind blows The sorrows, your heart's known I believe They're still home, we're still home Now they'll walk on my arm through the distant night And I won't let them stray from my heart Through the wind, through the dark, through the winter light I will read all their dreams to the stars I'll walk now with them I'll call on their names And I'll see their thoughts are known Not gone Not gone They walk with my heart Not gone And I'll never let them go Not gone I'll never let them go Not gone I'll never let them go You watch me Just watch me I'm calling I'm calling and one day all will know
I didn’t fully appreciate this show when it first came out - now, a decade later, after coming out, experiencing suicide ideation, the struggles of college, and intense love/loss for the first time, this show has so much more meaning to me.
** ¿ Usted escribió este documento? .¿ Usted lo escribió?** In Ispanish is amizing to but in English. ¡¡ Oh my good !! ** Nada , sos solo una mosca que mata por matar ** I Can't stop listing the letter in Spanish in my head. I love this
Seeing the original production always seems so static to me, after the deaf west version. Where’s all the middle fingers in this song? Oh yeah. It’s spoken words...
