That’s actually insane, I never woulda expected it to last that long, and honestly I felt like if there was a cool down period it woulda gone so much longer
I’ve had my Gen2 LT for 6 years and had no problems other then forgetting to put weaker springs in when at techstar, so I’m not surprised at this Gen3 workhorse. Also about halfway through it clicked in my head that full auto sounds like a Gatling laser from Fallout 3, now you just need a red tracer unit 👌
I have a lt15 SD, and had it about the same amount of time, had no problems until the bucking ripped, then poured my wallet lmao, I couldn't stop upgrading and I still can't stop lmao, posting my upgrades on my channel as I do them, should be done with it 100% this year
Of course the motor burned out, he continuously full auto it for 30 minutes straight. I’m surprised the mosfet didn’t burn out. Overall, it was pretty good
Show me a gun with the features this has and at the price point and is as tm compatible as this I own one as have put a zci 22tpa ,asg30k boost , asg 30k , Asg22k and a custom 30tpa custom motor on a 11.1v 6000mah 50c and that's 20c over what I would recommend on the mostfet and tested with all those motors no issue thought I would not ever go over 30c on this gun that I can see causing issues but have cyma has no had good Quality control as of the last year and let's be honest no warranty as a tech with 10 years of experience I can't think of a better gun for the price be open to giving companies a chance and don't right them off so fast few years ago I would agree with you but there tbh really good now.
@@southmoreconlin3757 he's talking about the motor height at the start. That isn't typical of anything by lancer. I've never seen a lancer tactical NOT have motor malfunctions right out of the box. However it actually did hold up in general WAAAY better then I expected. They need to fix the motor backing off issue that they have but they definitely aren't the garbage brand they were before
There’s a reason Reddit hates lancer. There’s much better starter AEGs in the price range. You could get a specna EDGE series rifle for about the same price give or take a few bucks.
Internals on the mk2 are not as nice as the mk1. I have a spr mk2 and my friend mk1 just feel nicer to shoot stock in my opinion. They are still amazing but people get butt hurt when someone says anything bad about their $400 toy
Except either fix all the other guns you do a meltdown on when they eventually break and keep going, or don't fix the gun when it breaks and consider the meltdown over. Considering the gun broke after a few mags the rest of the video is a bit misleading.
So far I have had experience with 4 Lancer Tactical guns(all 4 are Gen 2). When I first jumped back into Airsoft I didnt do any research, saw an LT-29 on the shelf and loved the stock so I got the gun. Out of the box it was a champ. Never had an issue. I have since turned it into a DSG. My uncle and my cousin both picked up some LTs and their guns have held up with no issues so far. Now another of my cousins picked up an LT and his was rough. He got halfway through a game day before the fps was all over the place, feeding issues, and what not. I tore into it to find the bucking was shot, the shim job was shoddy, and the piston was already fragged. Tossed in some spare parts I had from when I did the DSG build on mine and its been a champ ever since. Seeing this video shows to me they are improving, a gun wont ever be put in this scenario realistically and for it to hold up as it did was impressive.
I bought a LT battlehawk gen 2 earlier this year cause me and my friends wanted to get into it. i have a couple small issues but nothing that would stop me from playing a successful game really. the grip gets hot after 10-15 min game no full auto, i need to rechrono it but last time i was shooting .23's and was reading less than 300fps when its supposed to be around 350. besides that, everything is still stock and were running good
@@chrisshuler100 Yeah my grip would get warm when spamming semi as well. But I have swapped out the motor when I did my DSG build and that resolved it. Most guns are Chrono'd with .20 bbs. So If you Chrono it with a .20 I bet that number will be closer to 350.
Probably, plus during a normal match your not going full-auto constantly. Giving the motor time to cool down. This is purely a stress test to push it to the absolute limit. Under normal circumstances this thing will last you probably a few years depending on how much you go to matches.
For a beginner or intermediate level AEG the Lancer Tactical Gen 2 M4 platform is about the best bang for your buck that’s available. Especially the Proline series and higher models. Lancer’s Gen 1 AEGs got bad reliability and durability reviews and it’s taking people a while to realize that the Gen 2 guns fixed most but not all of the issues. The Gen 3 guns should improve even more over the Gen 2 but they’re evolving and getting better with each new version. Lancer Tactical still has a lot to work on with their guns and company but for a company that’s just turning 10 years old I think they’ve done a decent job. It would be interesting to see them put out a higher performance model in the $500 range just to see what they’re capable of producing.
Fun fact: To get all rounds out of the crappy Hi-cqp mags, turn the gun upside down and continue firing. I tested it with a new friend, when his gun had 20 bbs in the mag that couldn't fire because there wasn't enough.
I feel like this might be a similar result to almost any really well built AEG, I could see a Krytac piston stripping, or some cheaper ETU overheating and failing but I think this is a fantastic endorsement for LT. Honestly they’re one of my favorite platforms today, I still have my first airsoft gun which was a gen 2 proline m4, and it has been built and rebuilt countless times, but it’s currently a nearly 50rps DSG with a m150 still using the stock body, gearbox and grip. It was and still is my most favorite gun to work on
First, how is your vehicle doing? I hope it wasn’t too costly. Second, from the experience from my gen 2, I would most definitely be getting a gen 3 if I needed to get another rifle. Third, I will bet that if it didn’t have that solid base plate, the motor may have lasted longer. And last but not least, I am willing to believe that it will stack up to any Airsoft replicas out there on that kind of melt down. Being that I only have almost 2 years in the sport, I really don’t care about a brand’s past if they are starting to get good products now. Most rebrand companies usually started with crap and has had a bad past. But if you can look past that, you may just find some gold.
I love this video and whole concept, but I want to know if you agree/disagree with the opinion that "airsoft guns are toys" I seen airsoft mikes video and honestly I agree that they're toys for adults and weren't originally kid centric like nerf. I'd love to know your opinions, thanks. Also it'd be pretty cool to see a gbbr meltdown test! Maybe like a asg mac11 or a umerex G3!
I think they are toys but you have to be careful with them like I get starred at shooting them in my front yard and you have to be careful or they will put holes in your siding but if you wear safety glasses you should be fine. I think they are not toys for ten year olds but are not weapons. I am 13. (I know I wrote this terribly)
Depends how you define toy. To me a toy is an object that's sole purpose is for enjoyment which really airsoft is designed for. It doesn't really have a practical use and so I would put it under toy. Who you give it to is another thing separately. For example you have "adult" toys that you wouldn't even let a child know exist until they reach a certain age and I would say airsoft is similar where it should be reserved for a more grown up audience who can cope with the conditions of airsoft
@@matthewirvine1361 I that were the case airsoft would slowly and surely die out from a lack of new players. I'm saying that kids shouldn't play but people in their early teens (13 14 etc) should. I was 8 when I got into airsoft. And I remember collecting my cousin from pickup games. I'll remember the first time I went when I was 11. There were very few kids there today. Now when I go the teams are mainly made up of kids or new players
That's crazy how long it lasted, I'm still not sure why people hate on lancer tactical when the only time it will actually break, is doing something like this.
This was great to watch, seeing how long the mechanical parts of the gearbox lasted before the motor burned up. The only thing that I would have like to see differently would have been to see the same done on semi, to see how the trigger contacts, mosfet (if any) and motor holds up to repetitive trigger pulls. Since motors pull a lot more current when they first start up, the stresses on the electrical components will be different than just the constant flow of current that occurs on full auto.
Yes, semi is much more brutal on all components. Full-auto is illegal where I live and we used to often get guns made for different markets that just get their auto mode disabled and they break a lot quicker and run a lot hotter.
Lancer tactical honestly, they’re built like Supra’s of airsoft, no matter how much you throw at them, they just won’t break, I have a heavily modded Airsoft barrett that’s lancer tactical, and the thing literally has had no issues running @ 520 fps (m170 spring), the 3D printed 13mm--> 11mm adapters I made are the only part that have failed…
@@riggsvsoliver Their QC is infamously known for being terrible, obviously if you had three that worked that’s great but that’s just not very common for the brand
It December, 2022 and I just bought one for my 12 year old grandson. I think he will love it, I’ll show him this video after Christmas. Thanks for making it.
Lancer tactical Gen 2 ain't perfect but the ain't bad either. There are great platform to build upon making it your own. And as someone who doesn't have enough money to send it to a technician for repairs it's also an easy platform to learn to do your own maintenance and work upon all in all I give the gen2 series a 7 out of 10
@@syekow7732 I'm trying to figure out why I posted this comment and I have no idea where I was going with it I need to stop watching RU-vid and posting comments late at night
Do a torture test on a lancer tactical sales representative , see how many bbs it’ll take before it breaks. I bet a krytac sales rep would break faster since they do everything better
My lancer wasn’t terrible out of the box. After about a year of heavy use with a bunch of rounds put through it, the spring sheared it’s last 4 coils off due to the non bearing spring guide and the gearbox just stopped moving one day. It was a gen 2 as well
After this video ive done a thing and bought my own lancer tactical gen3 lt13" mlok!! Dont think i willbe melting it down anytime soon lmao but after seeing this it really helped me make my final decision and pull the trigger on my purchase... thanks for the awesome video as always scott and genuinely appreciate you putting your own replicas up for these types of tests and such your amazing brother!!
@@yuanzhu1073 yeah I ended up getting an lt32b gen3 and I still have it and it still works just as well as the day I got it!! Only thing I've changed on it is a Unicorn inner barrel and bucking for better accuracy 😊 hope this helps you!
You can even hear that it was motor height issue. RPS slowed down because motor gear was engaging outer edge of the driven gear so the gear ratio changed
28k BBs from nearly 30 minutes of nonstop full auto is very impressive. Most of us don't even go through 3k in a full day with full auto available. I think this is a case where a company with a questionable reputation made a great product, but the QC is affecting the product itself. Fortunately it seems that there's more Gen 3s that are fine oob compared to the handful of defective Gen 3s. This is LT's new standard for the next few years, they have a lot of time to fix their QC issues and fix the motor issue. I'm sure by this time next year, the Gen 3 will be a new standard for beginner AEGs.
Yeah I think it'd be cool if you did meltdowns for more popular platforms like the ASG EVO, Cyma AK's, various M4's like G&G/Specna/CA/ or even a E&C or Raven if you can get those. It would be nice to compare to the Lancer to see if the "tried and trusted" brands hold up better.
Cheap or expansive every gun can break. My stock TM hi-capa gold match broke on the first skirm after a few shots. Probably a double feed that destroyed my nozzle. And the hop up is a factory error it hopes sideways. Not to rag on TM but just to back scott up
Yeah. I have a Lancer Gen 2, and I really can't see why people bash LT. I get that the Gen 1s were dookie on a stick, and their QC sucks, but when you get one that is actually good QC, I think they are some of the best for the price.
@@maddoxhorn2181 ah yeah. When I took apart mine I noticed that flimsy spring on the charging handle. When it breaks, it breaks. Its an easy fix. But yeah mine is still perfect, I want to run an 11.1 but I don't want to install a MOSFET yet. I'm just worried about the trigger contacts if I do so, I know the gun itself could handle it fine
You should do a tippman commando they are new on the market but I’ve just gotten into airsoft and it seems reliable but I’d love to see a official meltdown video on it
Wow now you just sold me my first LT 3 and Iam sure just about anything will happen if you try and for the price its.being ordered thankfully I got to see your video loved it and now obsessed with similar video
I have a lancer tactical needletail. I love it, had it over a year now. But my ex got the nightwing ( longer version of my needletail) and it died pretty quickly and he ended up getting a refund. So I think it just depends how you treat it and luck But I deff want to get a gen3 when they come out in the uk
At constant full auto with barely any cool down and only the motor breaks at 28,000 bbs thats a much better sign than the ETU or internals going. So in normal use this motor would not fail. This is actually impressive and says alot about the quality change LT has made. As a beginner or mid tear gun LC is now viable.
@@murraycoates2810 are you talking about the motor height thing that happened in the beginning? That is an issue for every aeg period. Regardless they will have to either figure it out or call a tech at the local store they bought it at to help them. Id rather have a motor issue with a new player than a gearbox or etu issue as that requires full break down of the gearbox to fix. Motor replacement is a drop in.
if there is a Serial Number on those, that could indicate that your "batch" of Gen3's were a good one. then Airsofters would have one more thing to check when buying Gen3s
@@alexr7856 yeah I agree but most people buy lancer because it’s a budget beginner option but it’s bad and core is about the same price and way way way better
