I woke up and I was like yay it's Wednesday, thank God, I wonder what time of day she's going to post this video 😅 lol. I really wanted to see this video for the flip through, but what I didn't expect was to learn about the info on the first page of every book. I always use to wonder how I'd teach her about things like the exclamation mark. It amazes me how TGTB simplifies stuff like that, the bat and ball for b, donought for d and now just simply telling the little one that the ! At the end of the sentence means you say the sentence in excitement😌 left up to me I would have over complicated things for no reason. You see, this is what I mean by I have no idea how to teach preschoolers and that's why I'm so impressed by TGTB, I can trust them to think of the solution to little problems like that for me. Thanks so much for this video, I learned something new about the box sets.
I almost forgot to ask ... Would be able to do a review of the Level K Primer? I feel like every time you review something from TGTB I learn something about it I didn't expect to. Our summer ends in the first week of September and I'm hoping to have ordered the primer by then. Do I NEED the supplement? Or can I get by without it? I also loved the clips of your son using the books.
I'm so happy you were blessed by it! :) Of course I can do a video on that. I was thinking of doing it already so I'll just bump it up the list. ;) You don't NEED the supplement. They don't learn anything new in the supplement, but the Primer is short compared to the other courses. So I think it's more of a filler. We used it because I just didn't feel he was ready for Level K at the time. It's still fun and engaging so if you feel like your little one needs more time before K, then it's a great resource. It's also only available on PDF. So you can always decide on that when you finish the Primer itself. :)
And YES! Everything is so simple with TGTB. I also would have created a whole unit study on THE EXCLAMATION POINT. LOL!!! Kids learn so quickly and without needing any extra work. It's a great reminder.
It doesn't have it broken down by books but it tells you when you can start each set. We have the Usborne first library too and I don't think my boy can confidently read those...but he can read the Beginner Books. 😊 I hope that answered your question. ❤
I am really trying to find books that can help my little boy gain confidence. We are in another curriculum for reading. Not sure I'd I should switch to k primer or k. Just so lost trying to help him out. Q
@@PursuingPeace he is 5. He seemed interested when we got to teach your child to read but when it comes to sitting there and sounding out the words... He stops.
